We arrived early to our accommodation in Chalon sur Saône. Our host Pascal arranged for the key to be hidden in his garden so we were able to settle in. The house is amazing with all the beautiful original exposed beams and staircase. Pascal and Isobel have done a fantastic job with the renovations. There is also a very interesting book showing the construction at various stages. We found the house very well equipped with essential items in the kitchen, laundry etc. left for us in the fridge was a bottle of champagne, a jar of homemade jam and coffee for us to use. Parking was accessibly close by. If we were lucky at times we were able to park out front of the house. The accommodation is so close to the town centre and on market days (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) being so close was very handy to drop off our supplies. Fridays market day was a bigger day, including clothing, leather, jewellery etc... A smaller market is on Wednesdays in the Hotel De Ville plaza. I would love the opportunity to stay here again. Thank you Pascal and Isobel.

Chalon-sur-Saône is a very pleasant town, excellently located for excusions in the Bourgogne. Isabelle and Pascal’s house is situated at the edge of the centre; quiet and at the same time very practical as everything you need is within easy walking distance. The house is very well maintained and comfortable; we stayed with 5 people, but there is space for more. Isabelle and Pascal live next door and the garden is shared with the main house. They were away when we arrived, but we were made welcome by Oxana who was extremely helpful and even made sure we had fresh bread for breakfast the next morning. In all a very pleasnt stay.

A very big thank you to Pascal and Isabelle for letting us stay in their 'Little House'. Form start to finish the stay exceed our expectations; Pascal had even saved a parking space for us outside the property (which was very welcome given that Chalon was full of people enjoying the excellent street festival) and was waiting outside for our arrival. Inside a bottle of wine and home-made jam awaited us. The Gite is much more spacious than it looks from the photographs and the deck is remarkable private and quiet. Equipment is good and includes both washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, HiFi, etc. The beds are very comfortable and there is plenty of storage; the main bedroom has a nice en-suite. Downstairs the property is open plan but the kitchen, dining area and lounge are distinct areas. We have visited Chalon before but previously stayed in hotels; this was a much better option; all 6 of us (Parents, two sons (24 and 21) and their girlfriends) had a wonderful holiday and can only recommend the Gite and our hosts most highly. Thank you again.

The house itself is beautiful and walking distance to the center of Chalon. We stayed as a family of 4 and really enjoyed having the space to spread out and make ourselves comfortable. Isabelle was very kind and showed us around the house when we arrived. Unfortunately we had some issues with the bedding as all of the sheets and blankets had a damp, mildewy smell.

Pascal and Isabelle's place was spacious, clean and well-equipped! Especially loved the attic area which was converted to a bedroom. Good place to base yourself if you would like to visit vineyards in region. Pascal and Isabelle were really friendly and made us feel at home right away. Jam made by Isabelle was really yummy too! Highly recommend the place for big groups.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house, right in the city centre overlooking the river. The garden and house are much more beautiful then the pictures suggest! The house is old and modern at the same time. We felt really welcome and would stay here again! Thank you so much!

Pascal and Isabel made us feel very welcome, greeting us personally upon our arrival. They gave us a gift of a bottle of regional wine and a jar of home made jam. They had wonderful advice and recommendations for restaurants and local things to see. The pictures and descriptions did not do justice to the charm and character of this historic home. The location is excellent, facing the lovely river Soane, within a 5 minute walk of the old city center and all its historic sites. If we return to Burgundy, we would love to stay here again.
