Andrew communicated well with us prior to check in. We arrived a bit early but James welcomed us in and the rooms were ready. The old house had its charms, but that did come with some practical limitations. The windows were difficult to operate. In some of the rooms it was not possible to fully close the windows at first (due to the window mounted air-con for the hot weather a few days before), though James sorted it for us promptly when we asked about it the second day. Noise insulation in the house was minimal and regular conversation levels attracted a gentle knock on the door from James (this was during early evening). Andrew was very courteous. James interacted with guests most of the time. Breakfast was offered as advertised, but replenishment of items (milk, croissants etc) needed prompting by guests. Guest breakfast items and the hosts' personal food items were placed in the same fridge without clear separation which caused some confusion. We felt James was slightly overzealous in checking on his guests. James appeared unhappy at the (modest) amount of breakfast we consumed (we were a group of 6!) - if this was meant in a humorous way James should realise guests with language and cultural differences may not immediately appreciate the humour. This was a stay in a good location in Montreal for a fair price. Certain aspects of the experience could have been improved, however.

We stayed here as a group of 9 and had a wonderful time! The rooms are really nice and comfortable and facilities are well kept. The power situation was quirky but provided us with a fun game! We never got chance to meet Andrew, from what we gather he would have been extremely friendly but he must have been very busy! James was extremely welcoming and left us to it which was great. Overall a great place to stay in a perfect location! James was really engaging and welcomed us nicely in to Andrews home! He was direct (in a nice way!) which was good as we knew what the rules were from the get go! Really nice touch for him to have bought us some English crumpets for breakfast as a taste from home.

James was welcoming and the location is excellent for walking to the middle of town. The house has character and has great custodians. Breakfast made it great value overall.

Andrew’s place is located very close to public transit and walking distance to many restaurants and stores. It’s located in the center of several universities which makes the neighborhood very lively.

Andrew's place was a really good deal. Had a very comfortable evening! Aside from some high pitch buzzing sounds in the night? Maybe a fire station close by. Thanks, Susan

Hi I am the owner of montreaminbak and i would like to tell you that I moved to Canada and especially montreal because i love the city. I enjoy its shows because i am into music and can play a few instruments. I enjoy nature and the city and montreal has both. I am interested in many different things and montreal seems to have them all . I am from korea and i am an avid gym&rugby fan i go almost every day . If you want to be in a central location where all the shows are thats my place i am three minutes from many festivals like Jazz, Gag and the movie festival. We are right beside the opera house and one block from the upstairs jazz bar. The main shopping area is less than a five minute walk . Just remember .that i do live in the house
thanks
