This is not just a room - it's an experience. Slow down, breathe & enjoy the beautiful bush, walk one of three Labyrinths, sit by the pond on our bush acreage in a private little valley. Relax in the private guest wing with separate entry, own bathroom, kitchenette, bedroom plus relaxing room/dining room. Mid-mountains location.

The space

Welcome to our bush retreat - a wonderful place to slow down, connect with nature and just 'be' as well as a convenient base to enjoy the offerings of the Blue Mountains...
You have your own private space in the guest wing, which has a separate entry off the back deck, and is located at the opposite end of the house to our living area, so you can come & go without disturbing us.
Enjoy a beautifully decorated light, bright bedroom featuring a stunning mural from a local artist. North-facing windows offer views out to the beautiful bush. You have a comfy Queen bed (with electric blanket), large built-in wardrobe with a TV with inbuilt DVD player, shelves to stow your bag away behind the doors and hanging space for clothes. The room also has a rustic small table & stool, full-sized mirror and plenty of hooks.
The beautiful wood-panelled bathroom across the hall has a large shower and a bathtub. Separate toilet.
We've created a cute kitchenette to allow you to make tea&coffee and prepare basic meals while maintaining your privacy - please note it's not suitable for cooking large dinners.
There is a small fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, sandwich maker, small oven and stove tops, crockery, cutlery and cooking implements.
Free tea, coffee and herbal tea provided. You can bring your own breakfast provisions, or a light continental breakfast is available for $6 per person or you can enjoy breakfast/brunch at one of the local cafes.
Next to your bedroom is another room for you - a relaxing space which you can use to spread out, read, meditate & browse our books and contemplative exercises such as mandala colouring or the finger labyrinth.
There is also a larger TV in this room and a dining table so you can enjoy your breakfast by the window or also on the back deck.
Also available: Free wireless internet

Hair dryer in the bathroom
Heater in both rooms
Iron & ironing board
BBQ on the back deck

We are located in Woodford, in the central Blue Mountains.
The mid-mountains has so much to offer: in our village is the historic Woodford Academy (the oldest building in the Blue Mountains), the start of the famous Oaks Fire Trail for mountain bikes, many bushwalks including the Transit of Venus track and Murphys Glen, the secret Woodford Lake, 20 Mile Hollow Cafe etc.
In nearby Hazelbrook and Lawson (5 mins drive away) are beautiful waterfall walks, antique shops, cafes, etc down the road at Faulconbridge is Norman Lindsay Gallery then 10-20 drive mins up the mountains are the major attractions of the Blue Mountains such as Wentworth Falls (about 10-15 mins drive), Leura village (about 15-20mins drive) and the Three Sisters at Katoomba (about 20mins drive).
Many attractions are accessible by public transport, although it is easier with a car.
Getting around
We are in a little private valley surrounded by bush, yet only a few minutes from the Great Western Highway. By car, it's easy to find us and get around and you will have your own car space on the property.
Getting around from our place will definitely be easier travelling by car, so we recommend that.
If you're using public transport, Woodford is about 1hour 30mins from Central station by train and we can usually pick you up from Woodford station which is 5 mins by car or a 20mins walk. There is also a local taxi service if we are not available to pick up. Be mindful that trains run only every hour outside of peak, so if you are using the train we recommend you research and plan your trips ahead to make most of the day.
Generally it's easier to see the Blue Mountains by car, but do-able by public transport with a bit of patience. A few of the local bushwalks, the Woodford Academy and the 20 Mile Hollow cafe are walking distance or you can borrow our mountain bikes for a short ride.

Guest access

You have your own space with private bathroom & kitchenette at one end of the house with separate entry off the back deck. You can unwind in the relaxing room/dining room or use it for extra guests if needed (it has a double sofa bed).
You are welcome to enjoy the front and back deck, explore our beautiful acreage in our own little bush valley, with plenty of places to stroll, sit, meditate & connect with the beauty of the trees, flowers, rocks & birds. The bushwalks take in rock overhangs, platforms offering tree top views over Woodford & gorgeous native flora & fauna. We have three outdoor labyrinths for walking meditation you are welcome to use. You are welcome to relax around the pool and go for a swim.

We are a quiet place and hope our guests will take the opportunity to slow down, de-stress and enjoy nature.
We like to respect our neighbours by keeping noise to a minimum. It is a peaceful atmosphere, not a party place, so make the most of the peaceful bush surrounds.
We aim to live sustainably and are very mindful of our energy and water use, we hope you can mindful of that too, by switching off all lights/appliances when not in use etc
We prefer you don't smoke, if absolutely necessary not inside the house, only outside and we appreciate if you don't leave butts on the ground.
Please return things you use in the kitchenette & meditation room back where you found them
Please recycle using the box behind the door in the kitchenette
We don't charge a cleaning fee, so appreciate if you leave the kitchenette the way you found it by washing crockery after use
Check out is 10am sharp, we usually have guests arriving on the same day, and need time to clean and prepare, so would appreciate respecting this time.
Thank you!

Superb communication from the host the entire time and she made allowances for our late check in which we really appreciated. The property is perfectly located for exploring the Blue Mountains region and the host provides a folder with all the necessary tourist information to help you on your way. Just wish we could have stated longer than two nights had we known what a great place this was!

We absolutely loved this place! It's so tranquil that we missed our alarm and slept in. If you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of life then this is the place. The information booklet of the accommodation and surroundings area was really helpful and Donna was the perfect host.

Me and my fiancé stayed at Donna's place for a week in between being in Melbourne and Sydney. It was lovely spending time in a very quiet place (just you and the birds) in between the two busy cities. The self contained area of the house is clean and very homely. We hired a car for he duration of the stay which I would highly recommend is essential for getting around the blue mountains as public transport is limited so we had the freedom to travel to all the amazing scenery up there. Donna provides us with plenty of local information, must see view points and walking routes which suited our needes. I would stay back at Donnas and recommend it to anyone who wants some quiet time away in the Blue Mountains.

An amazing place to stay with Donna and Martin. Excellent value and so much more than just a B & B. If you are wanting to visit the Blue Mountains the Blue Labyrinth is the place to stay

Donna was absolutely incredible, she picked me up from the station (handy since I am travelling with a heavy rucksack!) though the walk would be very easy without it. The Blue Labyrinth is beautiful and has excellent bush walks all on its own property! I climbed up a rocky mountain, heard a few Wallabies and sheltered from the rain in an aboriginal cave. In terms of the bedroom and all of the other services you have at your disposal, I could not fault them. So lovingly prepared and so thoughtful about what you may need (spare hats for the sun, a hot waterbottle if you are cold at night, milk for tea etc.). There is so much to do here, especially for the spiritual minded. More than one night is needed, I think, to fully enjoy the property. Donna was amazing in accommodating my needs, the following morning she dropped me off at the start of a bush walk in the pouring rain and picked me up again at the end to drop me back off at the station. Lovely people, lovely place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short break. The accommodation was comfortable, clean, and based in the most idyllic and peaceful setting. The kitchenette was sufficient for our needs and it was great to have an a additional private space to the bedroom to relax. We were delighted with the breakfast that we opted to buy, there was more than enough for two and plenty of choice. The location was an easy and short drive from all the places we wanted to visit and suited our preference to be in a beautiful environment rather than be in the thick of the busier villages in the Mountains. Above all, Donna was an extremely thoughtful host, providing many personal touches to ensure we got the best from our brief time in the mountains. A delightful place to stay!
