Stay with me in the VERY center of Barcelona at a cozy room with a comfortable double bed at an unbeatable location, steps away from Placa de Catalunya and the best BCN has to offer. :) Welcome to the Gótico!

The space

You'll be staying at a private room in a 100 m2, 3-bedroom apartment.

Your room has a minimalistic design with a foldable wall-mounted table where you can work or even sit down for a meal. To set the mood, you have a remote-controlled LED lamp that you can use to change the lighting to the color that best suits your mood, or you can simply use the rotating function to have colors constantly change (and with them the room walls).

I live here myself and will be available to help you make the most of your stay in the city.

The bathroom is shared with me and a maximum of 2 other people and is constantly cleaned every day.

Guest access

Feel at home! You can use the open kitchen/living room during non-sleeping hours to prepare light meals and drinks, just please clean up after yourself. You have access to the Wi-Fi and can use cable at the living room if you need a really fast connection (200mb of both download and upload).

Interaction with guests

I love meeting new people and have been hosting travelers since 2008, but if you'd rather keep to yourself, that's fully understandable. I'll be around if you need me. :)

Other things to note

Check out time is around 11:00.

Check in time is after 14:00.

If you are going to leave your luggage in the apartment after check out, please remember that you are responsible for returning back the keys. They cost 50 euro to replace, so please make sure to be careful.

- Please make sure you let me know your arrival time as much in advance as possible before you make it here. This is very important because I obviously might be out if we haven't agreed on a time. If you fail to communicate your arrival plans at least 24 hours before your arrival, your reservation might be cancelled (since I can't be home all day not knowing when you might or might not arrive.) There is also a late check in fee of 25 euros for check ins after 21:00, and 40 euros from 23:00 to 2:00. Check-ins after 2:00 are normally not possible, please ask me if it is before you book.

- If you are over an hour late for your check in, there is a 25 euro rescheduling fee.

- If you discover you are going to arrive later than you thought, please inform me as soon as you can, since I might not always be available to wait.

- Smoking is never permitted inside the apartment.

- You are welcome here if you are clean, respectful, friendly, easy going and quiet.

- This is not the place for you if you are in the city to party every night or be loud.

- I have surveillance video cameras covering the entrance to my apartment, the shared living room, and my own personal room (not this one) for our security and to prevent the unauthorized use of my space. Of course, there are no cameras in the room you will be staying at or in the bathroom, and you have complete privacy there.

I mostly ask for common sense and friendliness. :) This is a residential building that's shared with me and others, not everything goes and one has to be mindful of the space and other residents of the apartment and building. Things to be aware of are the following:

- Please do not ring the neighbour's door bell under any circumstances. My door bell will be given to you after you book and I'll even give you the Wi-Fi information, which can be accessed from outside the building. If I'm not home for any reason, you can always use the Wi-Fi to send me a message or call me.

- Please be respectful with the neighbours and treat the place well. :) I expect cleanliness and and friendliness from my guests, since I live here and we'll be sharing the apartment. Loud noises are never allowed in the building and guests need to be mindful of the neighbours.

- I'm all for people enjoying their time and I'll do my best to help make your stay here enjoyable, but if you're in Barcelona to get drunk, be loud and lose control, please refrain from booking here. This would not be a good place for you, we'd both be uncomfortable, and your reservation would be void immediately if you're noisy and you'd be told to leave without any refund, since you'd be breaking the house rules. There are other options in town more suited to your needs. :)

- You are responsible for returning back the keys. They cost 50 euro to replace, so please make sure to be careful.

- Please make sure you let me know your arrival time as much in advance as possible before you make it here. This is very important because I obviously might be out if we haven't agreed on a time. There is also a late check in fee of 25 euros for check ins after 21:00, and 40 euros from 23:00 to 2:00. Check-ins after 2:00 are normally not possible, please ask me if it is before you book.

- If you discover you are going to arrive later than you thought, please inform me as soon as you can, since I might not always be available to wait.

- Smoking is never permitted inside the apartment or in the patio.

- Noise must be kept to a minimum, and silence is expected at night/early in the morning to respect the sleep of others. I have a no-noise policy from 21:30 to 09:30. Guests are required to be quiet during those times to respect the sleep of others—that includes being very mindful of how you open and close doors, making sure no noise is made when walking around the house, not showering or using hair dryers, and not speaking loudly. This is necessary to ensure that I can trust my guests to respect my space, my other guests and my neighbours.

- Your reservation would be immediately terminated if the house rules are not respected.

Thank you in advance for understanding why I need to write this fine print and for respecting my place and neighbours! :)

If you're staying in Barcelona you have to stay at Mod's. It is clean, tidy and exactly what it says on the tin - not to mention it's perfect location for restaurants, the sites, metro stations and bars. Although Mod wasn't able to be there for the beginning of our trip, he was still so much help from afar and answered all our questions in minutes and has a million recommendations for good places to go! Thanks a lot again!

Modys place is exactly what it says on the tin. All I can say is that everything Mody has put on the itinerary/information area is spot on. The location is ideal, in the middle of everything but silent at night for a great nights rest. Mody was unavailable due to personal reasons, however he remained available via Air Bnb throughout our stay. His friend Elisabetta was staying at the apartment and looked after us during our stay. We had an amazing long weekend and with a bit of luck we shall return someday! Would recommend to anyone. I'll give both Mody and Elisabetta a 10/10. Everything was great

Brilliant location, in the heart of Barcelona. The apartment is very clean and very well set up. Everything is available and easy to use. The room is big enough for two and all the convenience you could need with the kitchen. No noise at all at night which I was expecting with it being so central. Very close to all of the beautiful sights Barcelona has to offer Mody is a great host who looks after his guests from start to finish, from offering suggestions to trying to accommodate your every need. I recommend if you're thinking of Barcelona, then you should stay here!

Our stay in Barcelona couldn't have been made any better by Mod and his lovely friend Elisabetta. The check in was very smooth, the room exactly as described and the flat itself - in the perfect location. They couldn't have done enough for us, and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

The apartment was modern, clean and super central, being only a couple minutes from the metro and las ramblas. Mod was the dream host, who was really helpful with any questions we had and even booked our taxi for the way to the airport. Can't fault our stay in any way - was absolutely perfect and such great value for money considering how central we were! Definitely wanting to go back again...

Mod's flat is in a great location, close to lots of shops and restaurants and is also well linked with public transport. He is a great host and very happy to offer you any advice or recommendations during your stay. Thank you!

From before we checked in until after we left Mod was a really great host and we are now leaving as friends. The apartment is spotlessly clean and the location was perfect. We would recommend staying here to any of our friends and family visiting Barcelona. Thank you Mody!

I'm a well-travelled, well-mannered 28-year-old living in beautiful Barcelona. I've had the fortune to live in different continents, learn a few languages and meet people from around the world, so this is not new to me. I've also used Airbnb as a guest many times during my travels, and I know both sides of the story.

My passions include design, photography and marketing.

I can't wait to meet you!
