About this listing
Badger's Retreat is a very beautiful and colourful annexe to a family home in a rural setting. Great walking from the door - bring your dog(s)! Fab for cycling too and a local bike hire company can deliver bikes to the door (by prior arrangement) if you can't bring you own. Norfolk Broads and the sandy beaches a short drive away. Quiet all year round.
The great colours in this annexe make it a really vibrant place to stay but at the same time it is comfortable and warm so very relaxing. All on one level - there is a living room with kitchen built in, the very popular conservatory (with a day bed that can be used for a third guest if required) and a double bedroom with modern en-suite shower room. The annexe has been converted in such a way as to keep separate from the main farmhouse and has its own enclosed garden with seating. The views from the main living room (and the garden) are across the fields and not a lot else!
3 night stays are possible in the quiet season (November to March, excluding school holidays) and for the rest of the year we will be giving priority to week long stays as we do seem to be able to get them.
The only shared space is the drive for off road parking.
Interaction with guests
Susan and Craig will be there to welcome you but other than that will be happy to leave you to enjoy your holiday or chat with you whenever you like - up to you!
Rural peace and quiet is all around but you're not far from the beaches (sandy) and the Norfolk Broads. Plenty of small villages and towns and if you want a day in the fantastic city of Norwich it's about half an hour away by car.
There is a bus service from nearby Stalham but a car really is the best way to enjoy this area. For the energetic, cycling is a great way too - bikes can be hired from a local bike hire company who will deliver.
Other things to note
3 night breaks as a minimum.
Dogs are free - up to 4 small ones, 3 medium ones or two large ones but if in doubt, do ask. We are super dog friendly!
Happy to accept up to 4 dogs, we don't allow smoking inside but generally we try to keep the rules to a minimum and trust our guests to keep respect the annexe and so far we've not been disappointed.
I run a few very dog friendly holiday cottages in this area of Norfolk and I love to see people enjoying them. I know the area well, having lived here and loved it for over 20 years, so can recommend places to eat, walk, shop, cycle, chill out, where the best beaches are and help out with lots of other things to help you make the best of your holiday. It's a very peaceful part of Norfolk I live in, quiet even in the peak times. There's space for everyone here - hope you can come and enjoy it. If you want to see any of the other properties please do ask me about them. I'm passionate about what I do - offering dog friendly accommodation has gained me so many friends, lots of great contacts and I really do believe in this area and the properties I can offer. All of them are owned by people I know and I know the properties well too.
