Idyllic cottage set within a stunning private estate covering 5000 acres of rural farmland, 60 miles north of the English-Scottish border. Nestled in a landscape of rolling hills, upland moors and wooded valleys this is the ideal place to explore an untouched part of Scotland.

The space

The cottage itself is warm, cosy and extremely comfortable. There is 1 double bedroom with large bed and a further twin room. The sitting room has a comfy sofa and 2 armchairs where you can relax and enjoy watching TV, listening to music or playing one of the many board games.

The bathroom has a bath with shower head attachment.

The large open plan kitchen has everything you will need for preparing food, as well as an electrical hob, oven and Rayburn. There is also a large dining table, fridge and freezer.

Guest access

The entire cottage will be available exclusively for guests. There is also a very large garden area surrounding it and endless countryside beyond!

Other things to note

Please note there is no Wi-Fi. For internet access there is an Art Centre in the next door village New Galloway which has an internet cafe.

It was my second visit to the cottage and I fell in love with it all over again. It's a beautiful place set in fantastic surroundings and acts as a great base for either a chilled family weekend away or for an activity-filled weekend with friends (Mountain Biking at Kirroughtree and Kayaking and Loch Ken were on the cards this time round and didn't disappoint!). The cottage has everything you could possibly need and I can't recommend it enough. Thanks again to Lulu for hosting such a wonderful place

Fantastic location for getting away from it all but would recommend stocking up with supplies first as the drive is bumpy enough to want to avoid more than twice a day!! The pub in Dalry is divine and village shop offers most essentials.

Lovely location - very rural and quiet, saw lots of wildlife from bats to red deer. Fantastic garden for kids to run around in and little (shallow) lake was fun too. We had no issues at all with the access road, driving up and down in a Yaris every day, it was absolutely fine. Cottage kitchen and Rayburn were great. Had a restful time thanks!

This is a lovely secluded cottage, beautiful mini loch to row the boat around, good stock of books and blankets. The midges were present but with a good insect repellent and the considerate citronella candles were just fine to sit out and see the barn owl.

We have just returned from a week at Lulu's house & thoroughly enjoyed ourselves (apart from the midges at night time which meant I didn't sit outside as much as I'd like to). There was so much wildlife to see from the house & such a peaceful place. The lane was a little tricky to drive up but no major problems.

A great stay at Lulu's cottage. Location and surroundings were fantastic. The only problem I had was my car (a VW Golf) getting stuck due to the camber of the road on the run up to the cottage. I believe this problem is about to be addressed. Other than that the cottage is a great place to get away from it all.
