Casa Hudson is this hidden treasure tucked along the Hudson River, which came as a pleasant surprise for my travel-and-soul-mate Claus. After all, we were simply trying to find a place for a weekend stay that was close to the venue where my niece’s wedding was to be held – the Garnerville Arts Center in Haverstraw. Upon our arrival at the Casa Hudson, we were met by our hosts, Andrea and Nelson, who we eventually learned were responsible for restoring this 1850s beauty into its original Italian Renaissance form. The interior made us felt like we just entered an arts gallery somewhere in Manhattan’s Soho. Original art pieces by Nelson, an accomplished painter, graced the interior. Then we were assigned a room overlooking the Hudson River where we were able to bid goodnight to the moon and greeted the sun at dawn. Andrea and Nelson are just as special as their place. Best hosts so far in all the years we’ve been using Airbnb. Both are individual balls of creativity whose healthy synergy is a blessing to Hudson Valley but most specially to Haverstraw. By the way, Andrea served us breakfast distinctly available of the place. Nice eating places are just walking distance from the Casa Hudson. For those who are looking for walking trails or bike trails, they're just nearby the Casa Hudson. Our hosts are great resource of what you can do and find nearby.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The house is tastefully decorated and our room was comfortable and facing the Hudson. We loved sitting out on the front porch with our morning coffee. Andrea is a gracious host who made us feel at home and offered delicious healthy breakfast. The place is close to a lot of attractions, hiking, biking or just spend quiet time in and around the house. We were pleasantly surprised both mornings with homemade breakfast on day one and local delicious tamales the next. Being vegetarian wasn't an issue at all :-). The sunrise, which you can enjoy from the porch, is worth waking up early for. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

This was the second time I stayed at Casa Hudson and I plan to return in the future. Andrea and Nelson are such gracious hosts who have created a beautiful home overlooking the Hudson. I've stayed in both the Roma Room and the Blauvelt Room, both of which have generous space, comfortable beds, and windows facing the Hudson.

Wonderful place, wonderful hosts. It's rare enough to mention so here we go: Casa Roma was beyond our expectations. It is beautiful, quiet, neat ans Swiss cleaned (meaning you could actually eat right on the floor). Amazing mattress, decor, vibes etc. ... Pretty sure that any room you choose are gonna be just as Great. Andrea and Nelson are sweet & passionate and, cherry on the cake, they offer a super breakfast. What else can we possibly ask for? Two words : thank you.

We arrived on bikes from NYC. A beautiful home; the passion and artful detail that Nelson and Andrea have committed to Casa Hudson is extraordinary. The bed, view, and comforts of our room were excellent. Prima calozione (coffees and pastries, fruit and homemade yogurt) was a lovely way to greet the morning. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, had delicious meals nearby at La Cascada and Union. In a few ways Casa Hudson is a diamond in the rough, as goes the disparity in the town. Some will feel this more sensitively than others.

Had a great stay at this wonderful home in upstate New York, with a view of the Hudson River from our bedroom! It was great meeting the owner Nelson who showed us some of his fantastic art. Neighborhood is simple and quiet, about 20 minute drive to Bear Mountain if you're looking for hiking in the area. Highly recommended!

I am a lover of travel, design, art, friends and, of course food. I relish new experiences, learning about different cultures and opinions. As a hostess I respond to the wishes of the guests, I can be chatty or give space.
