Description

The space

Harlem is a very interesting area! It is mostly an Afro-American neighborhood, but has its mix. It is a place with a lot of movement and own personality.Even though action movies make it look like a very dangerous place, that's actually not true. This is a very safe neighborhood with very nice, cheerful and colorful people. In Harlem it's located the City College of New York, The Apollo Theater, the Hudson River and several places where to have a nice dinner, and if you are a jazz lover you have the famous Cotton Club a few blocks away from here. You can also walk to some other highlighted places such as Columbia University, St. John the Divine Cathedral, the General Grant's monument among others

Guest access

Kitchen, bathroom, internet, utensils... basically everything as if you were in your own house.

Interaction with guests

Text, email, phone calls and so on! most of the time reachable except when I'm in class.

Getting around

You can get from here to anywhere in NYC at the time you want because the most important subway lines of Manhattan (1, A and D) are just 8 min walking away from here. These subway lines are 24-H and always bring you back home no matter what. There are also several Bus routes, including the one that goes to La Guardia airport.

Other things to note

This is an old building in a middle class neighborhood and has its limits. I definitely can't offer all the luxuries of a nice and expensive hotel, but I'm willing to find out a way for you to spend a better time at my place.

The place was nice. It's not the kind of room you hang out in but for a place to sleep, it's great(who hangs out in their room while in New York anyway?). Everything was provided clean and the kitchen had everything it needed. We enjoyed our stay and Leo was very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood was really nice too and you get anywhere with the subway within 20 minutes. We would recommend it.

The appartment is 10 minutes walking from the subway and it's very well connected with all Manhattan ( 20' to Midtown) The neighbourhood is completly safe and Leo is kind and friendly. The appartment is good for the price and the location.

We spent a week at Alfred's place. Our experience was great. They are such a amazing hosts!! they give us precise directions on how to arrive to different places, as well as advice to places to visit. Their location is very convenient, as there are several main subway-lines that take you everywhere in NYC. Besides this, around the neighborhood there are very nice places to eat, to have a coffee, or just a dessert! as well as the traditional stores to start your shopping! Regarding the room, this was very comfortable, bright, with good ventilation, and a nice bed. The entire place was very clean all the time. I highly recommend them! if you go to NYC this is the place to stay. We definitely will choose it in our next trip :)
