Enjoy the true Venetian atmoshpere of living on a canal and strolling through the lifely Via Garibaldi around the corner. The beautiful sites of the Arts Biennale Giardini and Arsenale are nearby.

The space

The apartment of 60sqm has a strategic position near the sites of the Arts Biennale in the Biennale Gardens (Giardini) and the Arsenal. If you prefer beach life it just takes you 10 waterbus minutes to reach Venice Lido.

Guest access

There is a double bed in the bedroom and a comfortable double-bed couch in the living room.

Other things to note

When arriving by plane at Marco Polo Airport, the fastest way to come to town is by taking the Alilaguna waterbus. Also, you catch a glimpse of the island of Murano on your way. After leaving the airport terminal you walk around 10 minutes to the waterbus station. Be sure to reach the Alilaguna waterbus and not the taxi boat stand (The Alilaguna is 15 Euro one way, the taxi 110 Euro). You take the Alilaguna Linea Blu directed to to the Lido, but you get off at the next stop called 'Arsenale'. The entire trip lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Should you come by car, there are parking spaces on the Marghera side before reaching the bridge to Venice (on the right side of the incoming road). Daily fare is 4 to 5 Euro. You take a short walk to the bus-station on the main road and take the yellow bus to Piazzale Roma. From there catch waterbusses 4.1, 5.1 (30 min.) or 6.1 (20 min.) directed to the Lido. You get off at the stop 'Biennale/Giardini'. You can also take Line Nr. 1 along the Canale Grande, but it will take you at least 1 hour.
From Venezia-Treviso airport, take a bus to Venice Piazzale Roma (around an hour and half) and continue as previously described.
From the railway station Santa Lucia, which is one stop away from Piazzale Roma, take waterbuses 4.1 or 5.1. (or the slow no. 1) and proceed as mentioned before.
Depending on the plans for your visit, it might be convenient for you to buy a daily, 3-days or weekly (water)bus ticket from one of the main boots at the airport, in Piazzale Roma, the train station, the stop Giardini or the Lido. Take into account that it takes around one hour to walk through the whole town to/from Piazzale Roma/ the railway station Santa Lucia to/from the apartment. Means to say, all the sites of major interest can be reached by walking in less time, usually around 30 min. For example, walking distance to Saint Mark's Square is around 15 to 20 min form the apartment.
IMPORTANT: Alilaguna waterbus tickets are not valid for the other waterbusses in the Venice town area. After buying a waterbus ticket, you must validate it at one of those little ticket computers which you find at every waterbus stop. You will pay a fine of 60 Euro in case the ticket is not validated.
When you are on the boat to town, please, send us an sms on our phone so we know you will arrive soon.

We had a wonderful stay at Mike's beautiful apartment in Venice. Perfect location for the Biennale, but also a great place if you don't want to stay right in the centre where it can be very busy. The terrace on the canal was a perfect place to sit and relax, and the apartment itself had everything we needed. Mike was a great host, and kept in contact whenever needed. He met us at the apartment on arrival, and gave us plenty of good tips. Would highly recommend!

We had a great five days in Mike's enchanting apartment in Venice. Mike met us from the vaporetta and ensured we were properly installed. He had left us some very useful supplies. The apartment is just great for two people. We had such a good time sitting on the terrace beside the San Pietro canal and watching the world go by. Very convenient local supermarket and some good local restaurants- and all away from the tourist centre. Thanks for being a great host Mike - we had a wonderful time. Clive

Mike was very kind and helpful. He responsive to communication prior to our trip and, as promised, was waiting for us at the vaporetto stop when we arrived to accompany us to the accommodation, down a very quaint 'sotoportega' in a dear tiny little square off a larger one. He had left us some basics in the fridge an even croc slippers that we could use. The place was great! Very cosy for a chilly October (good central heating) extremely comfortable and nicely decorated. The location is perfect, just on the canal, and so peaceful. All you can hear is the lapping of the canal and the occasional chug of boats going past. Mike promised us church bells at 8.00 and 7.30 pm and they did not disappoint, wonderfully eccentric. We loved the area; real Venetians live here and there are all the shops you need on Via Garibaldi as well as some good bars and restaurants.

We had a lovely week in Mike's apartment situated on the Canale San Pietro overlooking the 7th century church. Mike was lovely and met us of the boat and chatted about local eateries, shops etc and had filled the fridge with essentials to start us off. The apartment has everything you need for your stay and is tucked away off a wee courtyard with its own balcony on the canal. It is 10 min walk to the various vaperetto stops, closer to the local shops and was so quiet at night it was lovely. It did get very warm in the apartment as the temperatures for June were really high. Just have a good pair of waking shoes as there is so much to see!

We had a fantastic break in Venice staying at Mike's lovely apartment. The location was perfect for us with all of the major sights a comfortable, and picturesque, walk away. We enjoyed being able to experience the quieter side of Venice and escape the hoards of tourists thronging around St Mark's Square and Rialto. There was nothing nicer than a leisurely breakfast and relaxing drinks on the terrace overlooking the canal. The apartment itself is well cared for and equipped with everything you need. Mike was a fantastic host; he had carefully thought about what we might need on arrival and for our first breakfast. We very much appreciated his consideration of our needs. He was great at communicating prior to and during our trip- nothing was too much trouble. Being met at the vaporetto stop was a lovely touch as were the recommendations for places to eat as we walked to the apartment. We would recommend this apartment without reservation and are keen to return sometime soon!

Terrace on the Canale di San Pietro was as described, and Mike was a great host, meeting us at the Arsenale Allilaguna stop as arranged. Communication was excellent both prior to arrival, and on meeting us, and walking us to the apartment, pointing out useful things en-route: Shops, good restaurants, and the daily fruit market. The local area was very friendly, and we chose it because we wanted to relax away from the crowds, in a homely space in a local neighbourhood, rather than just another generic hotel room. We always felt safe anywhere we walked in Venice, unlike some other cities we have visited. The terrace itself, was a lovely place to just chill after a busy day, just watching the boats go up and down the canal. (Also great for breakfast in the morning sun). We did a free walking tour on our first day there. This was a really useful introduction to Venice, its history, and orientation. Also, great tips for eating out, best Gelato places etc. Worth checking out, and booking in advance.

Everything went so smoothly! Mike was at the Vaporetto stop waiting for us and was absolutely charming! the flat is in a beautiful spot on the Canale S.Pietro and the area is lovely and quiet with local people going about their daily business and is a great place to stay away from the bustle of the St Mark's area, although that is only 10 minutes walk away. The flat is gorgeous! The terrace a joy to sit on while having a drink or eating breakfast. So pretty. And the flat has everything you could need and is very comfortable (and warm when we needed it as the weather was cold and rainy for a good deal of our 2 weeks at Mike's). It is a lovely home and we would recommend it. There is a supermarket a few steps away and a bar/trattoria in the Campo Ruga (even fewer steps away) where the owners are lovely - we used to pop over there for coffee in the mornings and ate there a couple of times and the food was good. Lots of places to explore such as St Elena, the back streets of Via Garibaldi both with some nice places to eat. We got 7 day Vaporetto tickets and there are several stops near to the flat where you can easily get a boat to anywhere you like. Thank you Mike for a lovely stay! Jan and Ray
