The space

This home has it all: modern amenities, a quiet location, and proximity to all that Seattle has to offer. All furnishings and housewares are brand new as of November 2015, including comfy new bedding and towels, furniture, and appliances.

The living areas are spread over three levels. The entry level has two bedrooms. "APAC" (Asia Pacific) has a queen bed, closet, and direct access to a spacious patio with BBQ and table. The second bedroom, "EMEA" (Europe, Middle East and Africa), offers great flexibility. It is furnished with three twin beds, including a twin over twin bunk bed (solid and sturdy --- not just for kids!). These two bedroom share a nearby bathroom with shower.

Up one level is the main living area. This open concept space has a chef's kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. This flows directly to the dining area which includes 3 stools at the breakfast counter, and a dining table that seats 8 and expands to accommodate more.

Continuing from the dining room is the sunken living room, furnished with plenty of seating, a nicely loaded cable TV package (HBO, Showtime, Starz, etc.), and a DVD player. There is a queen size sleeper sofa (with highest end sofa bed mattress on the market) for larger groups. Enjoy our collection of games (Scrabble, cards, etc.) in front of the gas fireplace. The living room opens to a small porch. This floor also features a powder room.

Continuing up to the top floor, you arrive at the full-floor master suite. "Americas" (North and South America) has a king bed with dual nightstands and a dresser with mirror. The room is so large that we even put a crib in there for added comfort for families. There is a balcony with views overlooking Madison Valley. On a clear day, enjoy the Cascade Mountain Range in the distance. The master suite also has a large walk-in closet and a 5-piece spa bathroom with soaking tub, his and her sinks, and a toilet separated by a door for privacy.

Also in the home is a full-size washer dryer, an oversized one-car parking garage, and two huge storage closets inside the home on the garage level.

Each of our homes has been decorated to pay homage to a meaningful facet of our lives. This home has an "airport" theme, with tasteful and playful decor celebrating our shared passion for air travel, and our countless memorable trips around the world.

Guest access

Access to the home is provided without a cumbersome lock box or key exchange. Instead, you will choose a 4 digit code, and the electronic lock to the home will be programmed work your code for the duration of your stay.

You will have access to the entire home, including garage parking for one car (and plentiful free street parking for additional vehicles). The garage is attached, and from the garage you enter the home below the "entry level" noted above. Use of the garage requires signing the "Parking Addendum" included in your Rental Agreement.

Interaction with guests

Your hosts, Andy and Lynne, live next door. Unless we are out of town, we are here to welcome you and help you with any of your needs during your stay. We are happy to offer you advice for sightseeing, restaurant recommendations, and even some budget saving tips and coupons.

Guests will receive, in advance, our comprehensive homemade visitors' guide to Seattle, packed with our personal recommendations for dining, activities, and much more.

Do you plan to cook during your stay? By special advanced arrangement (depending on availability), we will fulfill your grocery list and have your home stocked for your arrival.

The neighbourhood

Your hosts made Madison Valley their home when settling in Seattle 6 years ago... and haven't looked back since.

We love walking the streets of this neighborhood, and we will gladly suggest fun walks depending on your interests. Stroll to the beach at Madison Park. Walk by multi-million dollar estates. Discover hidden neighborhood gems such as the farmhouse with horses in the yard and the home that doubles as an eclectic art studio and antique truck gallery. Take a walk through the fabled Arboretum to Lake Washington.

Once you have worked up your appetite, enjoy the countless restaurants that Madison Valley ("Little Paris") has to offer. In addition to French gems, try our favorite tapas restaurant or the best Japanese food east of Tokyo. Take your morning coffee in one of numerous bakeries. Or opt for Thai, pan-Asian, craft pizza, Tex-Mex or more.

Our home provides easy access to Downtown (Pikes Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Great Wheel), Seattle Center (Space Needle, Chihuly Glass Museum), South Lake Union (MOHAI), University of Washington, and Capitol Hill. All are accessible by car, bus (numerous bus lines a few blocks from home), or for the adventurous, by foot.

If all of this touring (and eating) has you tired, pamper yourself with a visit to a day spa or nail salon. There are several of each within a few blocks of home, and we are happy to point you in the right direction.

Getting around

We live a few short blocks from bus lines that will take you to Seattle's numerous neighborhoods (Madison Park, Capitol Hill, Downtown, Belltown, Seattle Center, South Lake Union). Queen Anne, Ballard, and Fremont are more easily accessed by car. Our home offers garage parking for one car. Street parking for additional cars is plentiful and free.

Other things to note

Is your group larger than this home will accommodate? We can host up to *228* guests across our portfolio --- with all homes located within a few blocks!

We have 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 bedroom homes (and one 7 bedroom castle!) all in a very compact area... perfect for large groups, wedding guests, reunions, corporate retreats, etc.

Andy's place was the perfect place for our party to stay for three nights in Seattle. Lots of comfortable lounge space, and the bedrooms are arranged such that if you want to get away from the group, you can have your privacy. Everything was clean and cozy, and the place made frequent travelers such as ourselves feel as at home as we possibly could be! The neighborhood is nice and quiet, and a short walk to many great restaurants and stores.

I am so glad that you loved all the things that we love about this home, including the privacy and the proximity to great eating. Your "feel at home" comment means a lot to us. That is something we really strive for. Hope to have you back!

This place was great, exactly as advertised. Hosts were really communicative and flexible with check in/out times which we really appreciated. A great place for a big family with lots of private and communal spaces to get together and away from each other!

First and foremost, Andy is an exceptional host. From the moment we booked until the morning we left he was attentive, responsive and welcoming. We have a family of 6 and needed a large place to stay in Seattle during a house hunting and school visit trip as we relocating from Boston. Having lived in Boston himself, Andy was able to immediately set us as ease and provide valuable personal insights about Seattle. He allowed us to check in early - connected us directly with the cleaning team to facilitate this which was great - understanding that our kids were tired and, well, it was raining...:). The big curve ball came on the first day of our scheduled school visits - snow! Seattle ain't Boston. a little snow and no removal, sand or salt and everything is a mess...the schools were closed. Andy was incredibly supportive, connecting us with a neighbor who knew the roads and gave us instructions as to how to avoid the neighborhood hills. Amazing, helpful hosts...we will be back.

Response from Andy:
Thanks for such a detailed review, Keith. It was fun to play a small role in facilitating your family's transition to Seattle. I know it is especially difficult with (4!) children, and we are thrilled to make things just a little bit easier. Please be in touch as the relocation continues. We wish you the best of luck in your new role and your soon-to-be new home.

The Airbnb is exactly as depicted in the photos. Our host was extremely easy to reach and conveniently accommodated a possible early arrival and late departure. I love that doing laundry was an option. The provided everything you could need for cooking, washing, and comfort. We love that they had books, games, and lots of movies for entertainment. The only issue is if you're not comfortable walking up four flights of stairs, this may be a little tricky for you, but it wasn't a problem for us. They gave us a snack bag full of popcorn, chips, and candy as well as wine. It was comfortable, warm for the winter, and spacious.

Response from Andy:
Thanks for your kind comments and for being such great guests and neighbors! I hope you will come back soon.
