The space

Forth an Nance is a beautiful location with the front door opening out directly onto Portreath Harbour. It is 2 minutes walk from the beach and park and 5 minutes walk from fantastic woods - plenty of exploring to do! The beach has something for everyone, surfing, kayaking, paddling, rock-pools. Coastal and woodland walks with stunning views and so many stunning places to visit nearby e.g. St. Ives, Falmouth, a huge variety of beaches, the Eden Project, the Minack theatre.

A 3 bedroom house with generous living space, comfortably furnished in the coastal village of Portreath. The kitchen diner is fully equipped and can easily seat 5 people. The lounge has a stunning view over the harbour where you can enjoy watching the fishing boats and kayaks. The conservatory/playroom has a play kitchen and a sofa. This opens out to a sheltered, courtyard garden perfect for barbecues. Outside at the front, there is a large bench which is a lovely spot for breakfast whilst watching the tide rolling in or out of the harbour.

Upstairs there is a family bathroom with bath and electric shower. The main bedroom has a king-size bed and the same great view over the harbour and out to sea. The twin bedroom is very light and has a view over the hill and you can just see the sea. The single room is comfortable for one person and again has a view over the harbour.

As a family home, it is perfect for children and a great location to explore a fabulous area of Cornwall.

The house is in a beautiful, peaceful location on the harbour and very close to the beach with a supermarket, bakery, cafe and pubs close by. We loved our welcome gift - a box of shortbread, which we enjoyed with several cups of tea and coffee during our stay while sitting on the bench outside the house and watching the scenery change in the harbour as the tide came and went. It was very easy to get to places. We visited St Agnes and Trevanaunce Cove. My husband and I, along with our baby and dog caught the scenic St Ives Bay Line to St Ives, which was a great adventure! Trebah Gardens was also a stunning place to explore. We were very pleased to see how dog-friendly most places were. Our dog, Alvy enjoyed exploring Tehidy Country Park, which is very close to the house and we also loved the wide open space of Mexico Towan Beach in Hayle. We enjoyed "burger & pint for £5" night at Portreath Arms, recommended by a local and The Atlantic Cafe Bar does a delicious fish & chips takeaway. We had a fantastic week's stay at the house. Thank you for sharing your beautiful, cosy home with us. An added bonus, like home from home, there was a lovely play kitchen for our baby, Grace to enjoy.

We stayed at number 27 Forth-an-Nance for the last week of August and we had a lovely time there. Rebecca responded very quickly to the initial booking request and subsequent emails and gave us some helpful information for our visit. The house is very well appointed, clean and tidy and in a lovely location very close to the beach. There is a huge amount of cupboard space which was very welcome and the kitchen had everything we needed in it and more. The outside courtyard was perfect for drying clothes/wet-suits and rinsing off sand when we returned from the beach. A big bucket and a hose helped this process enormously! The garden room was a great place to store things and to ensure that we did not bring sand or dirt into the main house. Rebecca left us some nice biscuits as a welcome present and a pack of information which we found very helpful and there are books and games available for use if needed. The location suited us perfectly. The beach was 2/3 minutes walk away where there were rock pools to keep us amused early or late in the day (tide dependent), there was a river running to the sea which we tried to damn and the surf was great for body boarding. I would recommend staying here for families in particular.

Response from Rebecca:
Thanks Babette for your feedback. We're so happy that you enjoyed Portreath, such a shame you didn't have sunshine the whole of your stay. For future guests we will leave out blankets to keep cosy and check the instructions for the gas stove (and add further information for the electric heaters).
