Self-contained annexe attached to 16th-century house. Two spacious rooms (double & triple) with views over a pretty walled garden. Shower room and kitchen. Plenty of parking. Self-service breakfast included. Peaceful location.

The space

The single-story annexe (on the far left of the main photo) is attached to our family home and has its own entrance so you can come and go as you please. Dating from the 1950s, it comprises two light and spacious south / west facing double bedrooms, hall, shower room and kitchen, and is surrounded by a large walled garden.

We provide freshly-laundered bedlinen & towels and each room is equipped with a double bed, sofa, table, wardrobe, television/DVD player, hairdryer and Wi-Fi. Both double beds have new Silentnight Easycare Deluxe mattresses (medium to firm) and we use White Company bedlinen. There is limitless hot water from the combi-boiler and the central heating is on an automatic timer, which you can easily override if you need a warmer or cooler room.

The small kitchen has a microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge and is stocked with tea & coffee plus self-service breakfast items (fruit juices, cereals, toast & preserves, fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries). Note that the kitchen does not have a cooker or washing machine.

There is plenty of parking available on our driveway, directly outside the annexe.

BEDROOM ONE
This south-facing room is light and spacious and has a double bed. Views out over the walled garden.

BEDROOM TWO
The second bedroom can sleep up to 3 people, having a double bed plus a single sofa-bed which has a proper mattress. (Note that the single bed will normally be presented as a sofa, so let us know when booking if you would like it to be made up as a bed). The large picture-window faces due west and overlooks the herb garden.

PLEASE NOTE
Bbookings for 2 people or fewer will have the use of only one of the bedrooms unless by prior arrangement, as there will be a small additional charge.

DOGS
Well-behaved dogs are welcome (by arrangement).

Guest access

During the warmer months, you are welcome to sit outside in the garden. There are tables & chairs in several places on the lawns.

We have two spare bicycles available in case you're feeling energetic! Please let me know in advance if you wish to use them, so that we can get them ready for you.

Interaction with guests

We offer a warm welcome and local information as required, otherwise we leave you to enjoy your stay without interruption. We are always available to answer any questions.

Other things to note

The annexe is all on one level, so should be suitable for people with limited mobility. Do contact us to check any specific requirements.

For your peace of mind, your bedroom has a lockable door.

500 years building. But everything is newly furnished. Hosts are very kind.

Penny's home is beautiful and you couldn't want for anything whilst staying there. I would highly recommend it.

Great location, very close to the motorway. Penny was a great host, friendly and welcoming but then gave us privacy. The annexe itself was very clean and had everything you needed from juice in the fridge to DVDs and toothbrushes! Very thoughtful host and would highly recommend.

What a beautiful Georgian house in such a peaceful location and yet only a short distance from the motorway. Penny was so welcoming to us all including the dog despite our late arrival. It was a very welcome one night stay which didn't just provide an overnight stop over but actually extended our holiday. Everything was provided that we could have possibly needed including a lovely breakfast selection. Would highly recommend a visit.

Really lovely house in a pretty, quiet location. Very convenient from the M5 but feels secluded. Penny was great communicating before and making sure I had what I needed when I arrived. Very nice and comfortable room and everything you need in the bathroom and for simple meals in the kitchen. Would definitely recommend for work or play.

Penny User ProfilePenny is a superhost.

I grew up in the countryside of Gloucestershire and have a deep-rooted attachment to this landscape. I love being outdoors and enjoy gardening, walking, cycling, running and horse riding.

I have travelled around Europe, Asia and North America, and am now enjoying a quieter life in this beautiful corner of the South Cotswolds. I have known my husband, Alistair, for many years but we only got round to getting married a few years ago. We are very lucky to have lots of wonderful friends and as well as socialising, we really like going out for day-trips together, or just pottering about in the garden.

Oh, and I should mention that I love dogs! We have two tatty little black rescue dogs called Trixie and Rudolf who mean more to me than I can say.
