Our family invites you to stay in our cozy beach house located 4 blocks from the beautiful Lake Michigan and 6 blocks from the Racine Zoo. Enjoy a newly renovated kitchen and bath, outdoor shower and hammock, and 5 minute bike ride to the beach.
Our house is a quaint colonial brick ranch located just a few blocks from the majestic Lake Michigan, which has inspired every inch of our recent renovations - from comfy open concepts to outdoor shower.
In the past two years, we've given this house all new floors, a completely redesigned kitchen and bath, updated plumbing, wiring, lighting, new landscaping and outdoor living spaces, and lots and lots of paint. And love.
Perfect for a family or couple, there are two bedrooms and one bathroom. The master bedroom features a king-sized bed with an organic latex mattress atop custom built platform bed frame. The other bedroom has a full-sized bed and a crib.
Outdoor shower has hot water after a sandy day at the beach, patio out front is a great spot for early morning coffee or late night cocktail, our hammock from Honduras is the best afternoon nap in town, and your kids will find a swing and secret hideout in the basement.
You will have full access to our whole house and yard. We will be gone and will give you detailed instructions about how to get in to the house. Have a great time!
Interaction with guests
We rent the space as a whole house so you won't have to worry about sharing it with us or anyone else. However, we will be available by phone or text in case you have questions or want advice about enjoying the many things to do in Racine.
Other things to note
*Alternate street rotation is in effect for all vehicles parked on the street.*
Street parking is organized by coordinating even/odd dates with even/odd addresses. The night before the 17th, for instance, you park your car on the odd side of the street. The night before the 18th, park your car on the even side, which would be our side - 720.
If you get a ticket, it's $20.
• No parties or events
• Not suitable for pets
• No smoking
We want you to feel at home in our house. Please feel free to eat anything you want, drink any beverages that are there, ride the bikes, wash your clothes, mop our floors (just kidding), let your kids play with the toys, and set the thermostat to the temperature you like. Absolutely no smoking please, and no pets. We just ask that you leave the space as you found it.
I came to Airbnb because years ago my wife and I quit our jobs and threw what we needed to survive in our backpacks and thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. A lifestyle of hitchhiking and hostels taught me that there are so many awesome people out there that want to help you, and if you let them, your life will be richer. The communal style of travel that Airbnb provides is something I love and want to be a part of.
Fast forward a few years to when my wife and I threw a little more into a U-Haul and moved to the lovely city of Racine where we bought a house and had two kiddos. We love our church community, adventuring at the Lake, eating every kind of cheese Wisconsin has to offer and renovating this house we just adore. We hope you will, too.
