Iosu's place is in a quiet village in Navarra close to the border of Rioja and only a 30min drive to Logrono. There are no restaurants in town, but dinner can either be arranged in house, you can cook yourself in the apartment or the nearest restaurant is only a 5min drive away. The Navarra region has fantastic wineries and things to do on its own. We enjoyed exploring Urederra nature reserve with its amazing blue water and the historic city of Estella. Iosu's place was the perfect base and host. Communication was easy, check in superb with tips on what to do and the breakfast delicious with local products. The house or hostal was recently refurbished and kept in the Spanish charm with a modern twist. We can only recommend it.

Beautifully restored building, immaculate apartment with very nice furnishings. Great base to see a beautiful area and although we did not take Iosu up on his offer of trips or home cooking he could not have been more helpful. Would definitely recommend and hope to return

Iosu does a great job running the place and recommending activities in the area. We loved the home made breakfasts! The village is charming and very quiet.

This was an amazing stay in this small town in Northern Spain. We went for dinner locally and the restaurant was super nice with home cooked meals, and they even found the person in the bar who spoke the most English to help us with the menu. We also visited a locally winery for a tour which was great. If you want to relax and get away from the normal tourist spots this is a great choice. It's really quiet and it's an authentic experience of Spain. If you can make sure to do a hike to Urederra. These bright blue pools and waterfalls are incredible. The home prepared breakfast every morning was great too.

We arrived early as we didn't realise that check- in was at 7 pm. Our mistake but Iosu graciously left his lunch, met us for early check in! Thevapartments are in an old medieval building which Isou has painstakingly renovated with respect to its origin but with the comforts of the present. The apartment was very comfortable the bed one of the best we have slept in. Iosu cooked an amazing but simple meal for us on our first night & arranged another authentic meal for the second night of our stay. We are Australian tourists unfamiliar with the treasures to be found in this area. We will definitely return in the future.

This is a brilliant place to stay and I would highly recommend it. We stayed in one of the guest bedrooms for the first night and then two more nights in the apartment. The house is really beautiful and has been painstakingly and lovingly restored by Iosu who is also a sculptor. The location is totally unspoiled with wonderful views from the bedroom windows and marvellous country walks from the doorstep. Lots of pretty towns and villages within easy driving distance. Spectacular scenery. Bedrooms are tastefully furnished with lots of natural wood and stone and lovely fabrics. Bathrooms are modern, spotlessly clean and spacious. Iosu's breakfasts are fantastic, home made preserves and bread and proper coffee. Iosu also cooks a great evening meal on request. Well worth it! Iosu and his family are totally charming hosts. Go there! We're planning another visit

Of the three weeks that we have spent travelling through Spain and Portugal, the five days that we spent in Sorlada were by far our favourite. The apartment is even better than it looks in the photographs. This is because pictures can't capture the true feel of the renovated 18th century house - with its magnificent views across the Spanish countryside, its old wooden shutters and furniture, its little wrought iron balconies, the nostalgic old stone center staircase and the lovely musty smell that reminds you that the house has been here a lot longer than you have. Sorlada itself is picturesque, so small that it doesn't even have a shop (or a bar) and as I sipped my morning coffee I could see for miles out the window over fields and mountains. That said there a plenty of small towns with amenities only a short drive away. And for those of you who are wine lovers like us, and who want to experience the full glory that is the Rioja, Sorlada is only an easy half hour drive away. But back to the house, Iosu is a fabulous host and if you are like us and can only string together about two words of Spanish, don't worry as he speaks wonderful English. As well as greeting us at the door and making sure that we had everything that we needed, Iosu shared some wonderful tips about what to do in the Navarra region. In short, we will definitely be going back. Thank you Iosu.
