Gabe was friendly, flexible, and communicative. I recommend his place to anyone looking to visit Ann Arbor and not break the bank.

The house overall is very nice. There is a very pretty backyard and breakfast table. the kitchen and common areas are very bright and clean. also very well decorated! the bedroom, however, is right across from the hosts bedroom. this could bother some people, it was fine for us. the room is in the basement, and so lacks natural light. the window looks out of the underside of the deck in the backyard. the bathroom is completely usable, but the tile is chipping and as a result looks a bit dirty, also the bathroom shares the space with the laundry facilities. the shower is very small. it's a bit of a strange feel but gets the job done! there was a strange smell that showed up in the mornings in the upstairs that usually went away by midday. hosts were very responsive. when we needed space in the fridge they made it! they were available for questions all the time. gabe helped me with public transport and finding a nice place to go swimming. they spent a lot of time at home when we were there, this might have been unusual based on the description of the place. if you don't have a car it's very easy to get to downtown. you can either walk 20 minutes (and in the summer its a very pretty walk) or take the bus and get there in 15 minutes. the bus stop is very close to the house. it's a really nice neighborhood!

I had a good stay here. It's pretty basic, but good value for the money and it was pretty peaceful. There is a gorgeous & friendly gray cat that came to say hello to me at the door, which for me was delightful. If you don't like cats don't worry... he was very polite and never came downstairs (though I'd be cool with it if he did). There is a nice little sitting area with a couch and a table, a bathroom with a shower & washer & dryer, and a bedroom that was pitch-black at night which I liked. Everything was nice & quiet after about 10pm or so. Bed was very comfortable. I was allowed to park in the driveway. It was only about a 5-minute cab ride downtown. This worked perfect for a solo traveler. Gabe pretty much showed me around and then gave me my privacy. Overall, a good deal.

I stayed at Gabe’s home while attending a conference held at the University of Michigan. The room, located downstairs in what was essentially a suite with its own lounge area, bathroom, and bedroom, was comfortable, clean, and quiet. The bathroom was right outside the bedroom door; a washer and dryer were available in the bathroom unit. Gabe was friendly and was waiting for me upon my arrival. Our communication about logistics was clear. Based on my experience, I would recommend that other travelers who plan to visit Ann Arbor consider staying with Gabe. Such travelers will receive a quality service at a good price.
