Thankyou Mario for your review.
We'd like to address your two points:
We have eight lodges here at Blagdon Farm - all eight have fully fitted carpets in bedrooms, all eight have laminate flooring in the kitchen areas and five lodges have fitted carpets in the living areas - the other three, including the lodge you stayed in, have laminate flooring in the living areas. We have a lot of disabled and elderly guests (we specialise in disabled accommodation being rated M3A by the National Accessible Scheme) and it is for this reason that we do not have rugs or non-fitted carpets in the three lodges that have laminate flooring in living areas - they would constitute a trip hazard. Having said that we think, on reflection, that it is a good idea to have rugs available in winter for those guests that request one - so thankyou for your very useful suggestion - it is appreciated.
Regarding the swimming pool we're sorry that you thought it would be available - however it is very clear on our Airbnb listing (and on our own website) that the pool is open between Easter and October and not in winter. We would like to open it in winter but the astronomic cost of oil these days precludes this. We are looking at alternative sources of pool heating - particularly the far more environmentally sensible and efficient wood pellet boiler although such an installation is at least a year or two away.
Thankyou for staying with us - we're glad that overall you enjoyed it - North Devon, being an area unspoilt by mass tourism, has much to offer if you'd like to return here.
