Although it has quite some distance from the beach, the place is really peaceful and away from the busy nightlife of the baywalk. Apparently, it poured really hard the night we stayed in Baler, so we just had our dinner and slept right away. The host is really friendly and accommodating. She responds immediately to our inquiries. Too bad we didn't have the chance to eat breakfast at her place since we planned to have our breakfast by the beach. Overall, it is an overwhelming experience especially to my cousins.
DMB Transient is a no frills transient home. You get the essentials: beds and a bathroom. You probably won't be staying indoors anyway because you'd be at the beach most of the day.:) Location is very near Sabang beach. It's walking distance (probably around 2km) but I highly recommend renting a bike. The host (Marlyn Bitong) is very friendly and accommodating. If you'd be coming to Baler via Genesis bus, she'd even volunteer to fetch you from the terminal. Meals are also not a problem. You could request for dishes during mealtimes!:) (so convenient). If you're also looking for a nightcap after a day at the beach, you could easily buy beer from Ate Marlyn. Overall, DMB Transient is a value for money place to stay at Baler.:)
Nothing fancy about the room, it is enough for our need -- a comfortable place to recharge for another big outdoor activities in Baler. The big difference is how the host Ms. Marlyn Bitong treats her guests! She's is there 24/7 to answer our needs. In fact, she even cooked for our dinner and breakfast before we head back home. We felt very special when she served our favorites (grilled pork belly, ginataang blue marlin and pako/fern salad) all fresh from the market. I recommend this place to any group who wanted a quiet night away from the beach crowd, and to feel at home because of host's genuine hospitality!
