We had a really nice stay at Gebriela's casa. Even if she and her husband didn't speak much English and we didn't speak much Spanish, she explained a lot of interesting things to us and they both were super friendly. We really felt at home here. Our car was parked in a small space next to the house which was very safe. Our hostess adviced us a restaurant which was really really good. Better than all other restaurants in Cuba. You should really go there. The breakfast was very nice, too. Thank you so much!

Dear Stefanie: Thank you so much for your nice review and for staying at our home in Cojimar. My mother, Alicia and her partner, Carlos really enjoyed having you there, it is a pity I didn't get to meet you, but you are always welcome back! All the best!

I was very glad to stay with Alicia. The house is quite lovely. I spent much time simply sitting outside on a rocking chair in her garden reading. The room is quite clean and Alicia cleaned the bathroom multiple times during my visit. I am very glad that I stayed in Cojimar and not Havana as it gave me an opportunity to experience real life in Cuba. There is a bus (P8) that runs directly into the city for about a nickel but it stops running at midnight. I was a solo traveler so the cab rides from various night time excursions ended up putting a sizable dent in my travel budget so I would bring some extra cash for cabs if you plan on staying out late. As another reviewer noted, the roosters tend to wake up at around 5:30. If you are a light sleep and even if you aren't (they are loud!) I might recommend bringing a pair of ear plugs if you plan on sleeping in because they will more than likely wake you up. My spanish is quite limited and Alicia's English is as well but we were able to communicate quite well and she assisted me in finding things to do around Cuba. Carlos met me at the airport with a sign and drove me directly to the house and took me by the bank to exchange my money. This was so helpful in getting me set up. The cab ride from the airport was $30 but definitely worth it to make sure you end up in the right location. It's also quite nice to see a smiling face with a name tag waiting on you at arrival. I really enjoyed staying here and would definitely recommend the location for others looking to visit Cuba.

My cousin, Dana, and I had a wonderful stay at with Alicia (Gabriela's mother). Alicia was a superb hostess, and provided a delicious breakfast for us each morning with lots of fresh fruit and great coffee. Her house is lovely, with a beautiful garden. The rooms are as pictured with ample space to spread out in and relax. Alicia and Carlos helped us so much with planning our daily adventures. Alicia arranged for Carlos to pick us up at the airport, which was perfect. And Carlos was so kind to offer to drive us wherever we wanted to go, which made traveling around town as easy and low stress as it could possibly be! He basically became our tour guide whenever we went on a drive, and we loved the parts of Cojimar that he showed us too. We are very grateful for their help and recommendations of how to spend our quick trip in Havana. They really made us feel welcomed and cared for. Honestly, our trip would not have been as amazing and as memorable as it was with out them!! We highly recommend anyone visiting Havana to stay with Alicia!

From the time we arrived at the airport with Carlos our private taxi waiting for us until he took us back to the airport at 3:30 am we were treated like family. Alicia made a cuban breakfast for us a couple of times which gave us a good start to our day. The bedroom was very clean, private bathroom was clean and functional. Really enjoyed the neighbourhood as it was not about tourists but had a warm friendly environment where you were greeted by the neighbours with a friendly smile.

Great stay at the great place - real Cuba experience! Pros: - Location: local (!) bus stop is just 5 min walk from the place, and commute right to Havana Old Town is 15 mins and only 1 CUP (4 US cents) - great savings on commute! Though, the buses stop after 12 a.m., and then it is only taxi for approx. 15 CUC. - Amenities: great room with private entrance. Hot water, descent toilet (rare in Cuba). - Breakfast: very simple and tasty. - Truly local parties nearby: check out La Costa on Sat night to get to know how Cuban kids are partying! Cons: - It can be very noisy in the mornings with dogs barking very loudly right near your room. Also cocks singing. - Gabriella's parents (the actual hosts) do not speak English.

Beautiful house, in a quite district of Havana. Well located both to the city and to the sea side, where you can get rather quick by a number of inexpensive buses or by taxi. Alicia and Carlos are very helpful and always ready to give you any advice you need. Really recommend their accomodation.

Alicia and Carlos are great hosts and made us feel incredbly welcome from the moment Carlos met us at the airport. The room has a private entrance and is kept very clean with lots of space and comfort. The breakfast was plentiful and well made- thoroughly enjoyable. This is a fantastic location if you want to be out of the city. You need to catch a bus or ask Carlos to take you if you want to go into the center- we loved exploring Cojimar, going to the Terraza is a must and just chilling in a beautiful laid-back village. We would definitely go back again.
