We stayed 2 nights, the flat is stylish and comfortable, there is everything you need even for a longer stay. There were for us croissants, bread, jam, water, milk, coffee, so breakfast is included. Carrefour express is 5 mins walk, seaside corniche is between 5-10 mins, parking is 100 meters away in a closed area. No elevators, you have to use the stairs. Air condition is OK, bathroom is fine, we used the washing machine as well. Luca was helpful and provided us a hair dryer on request. Overall: it was absolutely as expected, good place to stay, keep on like this!
The apartment matches very well the pictures. We stayed 3 nights there, and it was exactly what we looked for = a simple place, next to the center, with a nice bed and a working shower ! It's a 10 minutes walk to the center of Rapallo, and to the bus stop. The only potential problem is that the parking area is a shared one, and it is quite full most of the time. We got lucky and found a spot on the second day, and we didn't move the car until the end of our stay.
Having first found ourselves in an unacceptable situation in Santa Margherita from which Airbnb saved us, we were so happy to be placed with Luca, who was waiting for us outside of his building when we arrived. Luca spoke very little English and my 16-year old daughter and I speak even less Italian. However, Luca had a bi-lingual friend on his phone who acted as our translator. Airbnb's enticing ads of "Don't just visit (Italy), live there!", fits the description of our stay in Luca's apartment, which is located on a side street in a middle class residential area. Luca's place is charming in its simplicity and eclectic style, from the black marble floors and white curtains in the living room to the colorful comforter and bright orange curtains in the bedroom. The kitchen is small but very functional and we loved having a real espresso maker. Luca even supplied the espresso pods, milk and croissants, and bottled water. The shower has plenty of water pressure and having a washing machine was a huge plus. From the balcony, you will hear the sounds of the neighborhood, especially when there is an Italian football game on TV. By the way, Luca has Wi-Fi, which was very important to us. Walking distance to the center of town and marina. No elevator but if you don't like to climb stairs, you shouldn't co to Italy! The grocery store was very near by; walkable to the train station (Rapallo is a great home base to visit all the towns of the Italian Riviera, including the Cinque Terre). Comfortable bed, huge TV, air conditioning. Five stars all around for Luca, who was a wonderful host.
