It's your time to relax! Come enjoy the Lake Weir Getaway on sparkling Lake Weir. The Getway is nestled among massive Live Oak trees and white sandy beaches that make this such a special place to create great Florida memories. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. Nature is alive here as bald eagles, osprey, herons, egrets, ducks and otters live here. Enjoy the deck, dock, sandy beach, bonfires, water and kayaks. This is a fun, family friendly environment. Sorry, no pets allowed.

The space

The Lake Weir Getaway is nestled among the massive Live Oak trees and white sandy beaches that make Lake Weir such a special place to create great Florida memories. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. Nature is alive here as bald eagles, osprey, herons, egrets, ducks and otters make their homes on Lake Weir. The lake is also well know by fisherman for its plentiful large mouth bass, blue gill and crappie. You're also welcome to bring your boat and there's plenty of room to park your trailer.

Wake boarding, water skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding and sailing are just a few of the fun water sports you can enjoy on the lake. Our kids love jumping off the dock and playing in the sandy shallows.

We've loaded our white sandy beach with custom built Adirondack chairs for you to move around to find that perfect spot to wiggle your toes in the sand or snuggle in close to a beach bon fire to roast marsh mellows under the stars.

You'll be about 15 minutes from Publix Supermarket, WalMart, Sams Club and every other national retailer you could think of, so don't sweat it if you forget something. And there's WiFi here to help you can stay connected.

Disney, Universal and the other Orlando attractions are about an hour and a half drive from the Lake Weir Getaway. The Ocala National Forest boundary is 10 minutes away. The Atlantic Ocean and Gulf coast are each about an hour and a half drive and offer tons of things to see and places to visit. Explore historic St. Augustine. Swim with the manatees at Crystal River. Kayak and snorkel down crystal clear Rainbow River. Mountain bike on the Santos Trail. Fish for world class tarpon, redfish and trout. Or get unplugged and just relax!

This is a duplex and we live next door, so if you're looking for a party house or place for a large family reunion, The Lake Weir Getaway probably isn't for you. A maximum of 7 guests are allowed on the property and there's enough room to park three vehicles.

Cancellation
If you cancel in writing up to 30 days before arrival date, you will receive a
full refund. If you cancel less than 30 days before arrival date, your
deposit and any prepaid rent will be refunded only if we are able to
procure another rental for that time period. If no rental is procured, you
will forfeit your deposit and any prepaid rent, not to exceed the amount
of the rental.
Refunds
There are no refunds. This includes, but may not be limited to, shortened
stays, unmet expectations, bad weather, illness, work and family
emergencies, electrical outages, acts of God or nature. If federal, state,
or local authorities call for an evacuation in the event of a storm, a refund
will be made from the date the evacuation is ordered.
Security Deposit
If there is no damage, inventory unaccounted for, or additional cleaning
over normal wear and tear, you will be issued a check by mail or we will
credit your credit card company within 15 days of your departure date. If
damage is found, additional cleaning is required, or inventory
unaccounted for, charges will be taken out of the security deposit and
the balance returned to you with a list of charges.
Check In/Check Out
Check in time is 3:00 pm unless arrangements have been made prior to
arrival. Check out time is no later than 11:00 am. Late check out may
subject you to additional rent being due which may be deducted from
your security deposit.
Occupancy
The maximum guests allowed on the property is seven (7). Exceeding the
allowed occupancy will result in a breach and default under this
Agreement and forfeiture of rents and security deposit.
Safety
Guest acknowledges and agrees that they are responsible for the safety
of themselves, their family, children and guests with respect to the
property, dock and waterfront area. Any use of the property, dock,
beach, etc. shall be at the sole risk of the Guest. Guest acknowledges
and agrees to hold owner harmless from any injuries to them, their family
or their guests. It is understood that there is no lifeguard and that
supervision and safety are the Guest's full responsibility.
Boats, Trailers and Kayaks
You are welcome to bring your boat and trailer. Our dock, beach and
kayaks are available for you to use during your stay. The Owners are not
responsible for damage to boats tied to docks or left on the property.
Care of Home and Property
Guest shall maintain the premises in a good, clean, and ready to rent
condition and use the premises only in a careful and lawful manner. The
Guest shall leave the premises in a ready to rent condition at the
expiration of the rental agreement, defined by the Owner as being
immediately habitable by the next guests. Guest shall pay for
maintenance and repairs should the premises be left in a lesser condition.
The Guest agrees that the Owner shall deduct costs of said services from
the security deposit prior to refund if Guest causes damage to the
premise, personal property or its furnishings. You are responsible for any
damage or losses to the rental property. If there is evidence of smoking or
pets all of the security deposit will be forfeited for a thorough cleaning.
Be A Good Neighbor
Guest agrees not to disturb neighbors with loud noise, music, or unlawful
or unsafe behavior. If you or your guests allow or participate in such
behavior, you will be asked to leave and will forfeit the remainder of your
rental fee and deposits. Participation in unlawful activities including
environmental destruction, natural resource violations, or public nuisance
violations may be cause for eviction. Creating a disturbance of the
above nature shall be grounds for immediate termination of this
agreement and Guest shall immediately vacate the premises.
Inventory
Our home is equipped with linens, towels, cooking/baking utensils, pots
and pans, dishes and appliances; these items are inventoried upon your
departure. You will be charged for any broken or missing items.
Garbage
There is no garbage service, so you'll need to run your trash just up the
road to the county garbage depot. It's a three minute drive. Take a left
out of the driveway and turn left on SE 100th Ave (just past Alfies). The
depot will be on your right. Tenant is cautioned not to leave trash outside
for long periods of time because it attracts animals. Guest agrees to
dispose of all waste material generated during the rental period in a
lawful manner.
Right of Entry
The owners or subcontractors shall have the right to enter the property at
reasonable hours for the purpose of making repairs or inspections.
Performance
This Agreement imposes an obligation of good faith in its performance
and enforcement. If you default in performing any of the obligations
herein, the owners shall be entitled to recover costs and expenses,
including court costs and reasonable attorney fees. This Agreement shall
be construed to conform to Chapter 509, Florida Statues.
Smoking/Pets
There is absolutely NO Smoking permitted inside or on the screen porch.
Pets and animals are also NOT permitted anywhere on property, (both
inside and outside of property). Non-adherence to either of these policies
will result in forfeiting all of the security deposit, unused days and you will
be asked to vacant the property immediately.
Hold Harmless
Guest shall hereby indemnify and hold harmless the Owner against any
and all claims of personal injury or property damage or loss arising from
use of the premises regardless of the nature of the accident, injury or loss.
Guest expressly recognizes that any insurance for property damage or loss
which the Owner may maintain on the property does not cover the
personal property of Guest, and that Guest should purchase their own
insurance if such coverage is desired. Guest is responsible for and shall
indemnify the Owner and Owner's agents and hold them harmless from
any and all claims, liability, demands, actions, causes of action, expenses,
damages, losses or injuries sustained by any person including Guest,
Guest's family, agents, guests or invitees as a result of or arising from the
Guest's subject occupancy and tenancy, including, but in no way limited
to claims arising from the use of any part of the rental premises. Guest
shall also be liable and indemnify Owner for attorney's fees and court
costs incurred by Owner in enforcing any of the terms, covenants or
conditions of this Rental Agreement or which are sustained by Owner as a
result of or arising from or during Guest's subject occupancy and tenancy.
Guest agrees that Owner and Owner's agents shall not be liable for any
loss of or damage to any personal property in or on the rental premises or
stored in rooms or places provided to Guest in connection therewith, nor
shall Owner or Owner's agents or employees be liable to Guest, Guest's
family, guests, or agents for failure to repair or maintain any part of the
rental premises or property contained therein absent gross negligence.
Guest further agrees that neither Owner, nor Owner's agents or
employees shall be liable for any damage to the personal property of the
Guest, Guest's family, guests, or agents arising from theft, vandalism, fire,
water, rain, acts of God or government, interruption of utilities, acts of
others or other third party or external causes whatsoever.
Liability
Guest may be responsible and liable to Owner for damages in excess of
the security deposit for any damage or loss caused by Guest or their
guest. Guest shall pay for any damage done to the premises over and
above normal wear and tear.
Representation
The Owners are not responsible for loss, theft or personal injury. If you are
renting unseen, your signature on this reservation releases Owners and it's
representatives from any deficiencies you may find upon arrival. It is
agreed that this rental agreement is made in Marion County, FL and its
terms may be enforced in Marion County at the sole discretion of owner.
Guest agrees to pay all reasonable costs, attorney's fees and expenses
that shall be made or incurred by Landlord enforcing this agreement.
When You Leave
Upon departure, please leave the home and property as you found it:
tidy, food removed from refrigerator, garbage placed in outside trash
containers, and all lights and A/C turned to 78-80 degrees. Please do not
rearrange the furniture. Only the last day's linens and towels should be left
for washing. Guest is required to perform "Normal" household duties that
include, but are not limited to, garbage removal, cleaning of individual
and guest(s) dishes, notification to owner of any damages or problems
with the property and locking of all windows and doors when tenant
leaves the condo.
On day of departure, please strip all beds, bag all trash and keep sealed
in garbage containers. Lock all doors, turn off lights and leave air
conditioning on set to 78-80 degrees.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Lake Weir Getaway! We hope you have a wonderful time and make lots of great memories while you're here. As our special guest, it is our pleasure to provide you with the most comfortable and enjoyable accommodation possible for a fun filled memorable vacation. Please notify us immediately if you encounter any problems, maintenance or other issues so that we can do whatever possible to help you have a great vacation.

Emergencies

Rinsing Off
Please rinse sand and dirt off with the hose in the designated area next to the deck. Please DO NOT rinse sand and dirt off in the showers or washing machine, as this will clog the drains and back up the septic into the house.

Smoking
Smoking is prohibited inside the house and on the screened porch. Smoking areas include the outside deck, beach and dock. Please place all cigarette butts in the garbage.

Dock, Beach, Kayaks and Volleyball
The black Adirondack chairs, fire pit, fire wood, volleyball net, kayaks and paddles are there for you to enjoy. Please be sure to pull kayaks, paddles, etc far out of water when not using, as they will float away if left near water's edge.

Garbage
There is no garbage service, so you'll need to run your trash just up the road to the Davis Recycling Center. It's a three minute drive. Take a left out of the driveway and turn left on SE 100th Ave (just past Alfie's restaurant). The depot will be on your right. Please don't leave trash outside as raccoons and possums will leave you a mess to clean up.

Sewer Systems
We are on a septic system. Please do not place any food items or grease down the drains. Please do not put fruit peels, fish bones or eggshells down the sink. Please only flush toilet paper and no feminine hygiene products down the toilet.

Water
We are on a well system. Please make sure all faucets, toilets and garden hoses are not left running. If you incur a plumbing problem, please report it to us immediately.

Electricity
Please be sure that all windows and doors are shut properly when the air conditioning system is in use. Upon arriving, if you do not have hot water and/or partial electricity, please check the circuit breaker (middle bedroom closet) box to see that all switches are in the “On” position. The AC runs cold, so please make sure you turn it to 80 degrees when you are not inside.

Departure
On day of departure, please strip all beds, bag and remove all trash. Lock all doors, turn off lights and leave air conditioning on set to 78-80 degrees.

The beautiful setting is right on Lake Weir. The porch and deck are great for relaxing. The kayaks and dock were convenient. Proximity to stores and Carney Island was perfect. The hosts are easy to work with and nice people!

Stayed at the getaway with my father, husband and 2 year old and we all loved it! The home is very comfortable and well equipped. The beach is right outside the back door and is so beautiful. We had the best time and the hosts were so friendly and helpful. If we go back to this part of Florida we will definitely stay their again!

The Lake Wier Getaway is such a gem! Bartow & his family were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel at home. I was there with a group of ladies getting ready for a big event we were planning in the area. Bartow & family were so helpful in giving us info about the area and even helping us load /unload the van which was totally above and beyond. The property has incredible views of the lake and the house was cozy and perfectly clean. It was such an awesome getaway. We forgot we were working it was so beautiful!
