About this listing

Sorry had to raise the rent to $75.00 a night as our state leaders now want us small guys to pay the same TRANSIENT FEES the Big Resorts pay and it's hurts. Many small BNB's will shut down, not worth renting, too expensive. We will try it and see how it goes.

We are in the country, Rural older local neighborhood behind the Conservation Forrest where there is LOTS of bugs and creatures, it's a NATURE PRESERVE.

Guest access

What is available in the cottage and the Kona Area.

Interaction with guests

Greet guest, introduce them to the cottage then leave guest alone. Always available for questions or help.

The neighbourhood

It's a local Hawaiian neighborhood. Use to be country, Conservation area behind cottage.

Getting around

No real public Transportation in the immediate area, only in town and it's LIMITED. Taxi very EXPENSIVE. Need a rental car for the Big Island of Hawai'i. Will not accept any reservation without a car rental. We are unable to shuttle guest.

Other things to note

Because we are country and behind us is the Conservation Forrest we have seasonal pest: ants, ground fleas, fruit files, white flies, mosquitoes, spiders, termites which we deal with as they arrive, this is COUNTRY. Pest Control sprays regularly. Also new arrival is Feral cats, use to have occasional Rat/mice problems, now Feral cats which Advocates have "fixed" and examined but has deemed this area a "Colony". Kona is built on lava, lots of rocks. Our yard is lava rock with some grass. Rocky path from parking area to cottage. *Three steps down to cottage, Seven Steps inside cottage up to the bathroom. Guest should be in good shape.

Judy is a thoughtful and lovely host. The cottage is clean and quiet and have everything you need. We found the bed a bit tight for two but this might just be us.

Response from Judy:
Aloha, so glad you had a good stay with us. Sorry you didn't care for the Double Bed as that is really only what can fit in the small cottage. You were perfect guest and we'd love to have you back anytime. But we can't change the bed, sorry. Mahalo, Judy

Nice cottage with incredible hot water, which was very needed after our daily hikes. We didn't take advantage of the kitchen and balconies, but it's large enough to really spread out and relax. Judy provided tons of beach gear and anything you could need for nights in.

Response from Judy:
The decks are swept and hosed down. Repainted them about a year ago before my son died. He would help me maintain the cottage he built. The decks are my refuge, just to sit out there and listen to the birds is heaven. Most Guest love it. Yes, we probably are the most affordable with no CLEANING Fees in Kona. Other then that hoping you had a good stay with us and enjoyed Kona. Mahalo, Judy
