Enjoy historic Chelsea just across from High Line Park, with dozens of restaurants, cafés and art galleries! Bike on the Hudson, relax on the balcony, savor local parks, walk to Greenwich Village, theaters + midtown! Subway 2 blocks; buses and CitiBike nearby. Newly-purchased bed linens, kitchen equipment and amenities await you. As a native New Yorker I offer many recommendations of things to do and places to see so that your visit will be amazing and memorable!

The space

With high ceilings, sunlight on three sides, and a tranquil view of neighboring gardens, enjoy an oasis in the big city in this apartment full of antiques and unique artwork! Please contact me to ensure my calendar is up-to-date! There is a 30-night minimum rental period due to New York's stupid laws regarding Airbnb. Ask about discounts for stays longer than 45 days!

The bedroom features a pillow-top queen mattress atop a custom-made wooden bed frame. Dresser and living room closet to store your items.

Apartment equipped with air-conditioning unit as well as heating units.

The small galley kitchen includes a new stove and refrigerator.

Bathroom has a full tub and shower, excellent water pressure and always hot water, despite older fixtures and tiling.

As my building is renovated late-19th-century former hotel there are neither dishwashers nor laundry facilities. There is no doorman, no concierge, and no elevator.

Guest access

You have access to the entire apartment and balcony.

Although there is no TV or cable, you can stream videos and use super-fast high-speed Internet on the 27" iMac. A stereo that streams music plus laser printer are also available for your use. There are plenty of power ports (electrical outlets) and extension cords to plug in all your devices.

Interaction with guests

My neighbor and I will be pleased to help with any issues that arise during your stay! I can offer many recommendations for NYC dining, arts and entertainment as well as travel in New York State, the United States and Canada.

Other things to note

Laundry facilities are located nearby and cost between $1.20 and $1.50 per pound of laundry for same-day service. Dry cleaning is also available.

Once again - a wonderful time spent at Jorleiv's place. This time he provided a superb welcome pack of cookies, beer and sweets. Lovely stuff!

This is the second time I've stayed with Jorleiv and the second time I've had a wonderful experience: everything I asked for her provided, he left beer for me in the fridge and was always on hand in case I needed anything. I'm looking forward to coming back and staying here again next week.

I honestly can't fault anything about Jorliev's place. First up, before I made my decision to book his apartment I happened to be in the City, and he invited me round to take a look at the place, even offering me a beer. Second, everything in the apartment was exactly as described. Jorliev left me a welcome pack that explained how things worked and everything was completely comfortable and laid-back. This is an absolutely ideal place to stay in a wonderful location. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone who wants somewhere homely and convenient to stay in in Manhattan.

After 250 positive references from hosts and surfers on the travel site C*uchsurfing, I finally decided to try Airbnb! You can learn everything about me there, I have the same username. Unfortunately airbnb won't allow me to post the link. But if you go to Couchs*rfing and search for Jorleiv, there I am.
