Sister cottage to The Mouse House, Honeysuckle has all the charm of a small cosy country cottage. It looks out over the swimming pool it shares with Mouse House and is set in stunning scenery

The space
Honeysuckle Cottage is a 2 bedroomed converted barn, named by the Honeysuckle that grows profusely over the front wall. Facing south and set in 8 acres of private grounds, it looks over Taunton vale with Exmoor rising to the west and the Quantock Hills behind. This cosy cottage opens straight into a kitchen/diner, with a snug sitting room attached. 2 bedrooms upstairs are divided by the bathroom and all three rooms look out over the swimming pool and gardens. In the summer of 2018, both cottages were extensively renovated providing a new bathroom in Honeysuckle with a large walk in shower, fully tiled with underfloor heating. New carpet has been laid in both bedrooms and plantation shutters throughout which gave total light control at anytime. The kitchen now has built in fridge/freezer & microwave, & new worktops & tiles, giving a clean, efficient space. The cottage has been repainted throughout.

Guest access
The outdoor swimming pool is shared with the Mouse House, the 1 bedroomed cottage next door. The large car park with automatic gates, has room for 2 cars for each cottage and the private Italian garden leading from the car park, is for the use of cottage guests. You can eat out here and benefit from the small bar-b-q provided. Behind the Italian garden is a private tennis court which both cottages can use. The surrounding 4 acres are free for picnics and walks.

Other things to note
A true Somerset village which values its timeless beauty, West Bagborough has no street lights, so please bring a torch!. Please also note that families with children under 18, will not be charged the extra £5 per night tariff. This is for adult guests only.
If you have booked for 2 nights only, there will be a premium charge. This is reflected in the nightly price

Bagborough derives it’s name from the old English word meaning badger’s Hill. The Romans were here and a fine hoard of silver roman coins was found here in 2002. With a population of only 400, many of its amenities have gone, with the exception of The Rising Sun, a 15th century pub with an excellent reputation for good food. However, a supermarket, butcher and petrol station plus other small shops are only 1 mile away in Bishops Lydeard. The splendid Quantock Hills rise behind the village and provide wonderful wildlife and stunning views across to South Wales.

During your stay
Jenny hosts both cottages and is always available for extra forgotten items! Should there be any issues, she has electricians or plumbers who give both cottages priority. Jenny also runs Higher House and looks after her disabled husband, so she isn’t always free to meet and greet but easily contactable.
