Hey!! Leonardo is a traditional Tuscan cottage, carefully restored for a group up to 4 persons. A typical stone house with an incredible view over the rolling hills. The village Greve in Chianti with it's famous butcher and wine shops is only 2 kilometer from the villa. The house is situated in a nice and peaceful corner of the villa. It has a furnished outside space with panoramic view. You will find a fully equipped house. We share the swimming pool among our olive trees with you!

The space

Slow down life's pace

Leonardo is a perfect place to learn more about the inspiring slow lifestyle of the area. A delightful attached, stone-built cottage at ground level with a private garden directly overlooking the valley of Greve in Chianti. At the corner of Agriturismo Villa Prono is the sunny lane with a dining table, four chairs, four deck chairs and a garden parasol. An ideal place to relax whilst enjoying the finest Chianti wine matured in the our cantina. The town Greve in Chianti only 2 km from the villa.

Dear Guest. This description may seem endless, but it is worth reading as you will gain a lot of useful information!

Entrance from the garden to the dining and kitchen area which also includes a relax area with a fireplace. Opposite the kitchen equipped with oven, gas hobs and a fridge with separate freezer compartment is a table and four chairs. The garden is separated from the neighbouring cottage by a large square where private parking at the villa is possible for Leonardo's guests. The garden is a perfect spot to enjoy your breakfast and dinner “al fresco”. Every night you can dance under the stars.

The swimming pool is only a short walk from the villa, nestled among gnarled olive trees where you can relax away from the bustle of the city.

A small hallway leads to the two separate bedrooms and a separate bathroom with shower. To the left is a cosy bedroom furnished with a double bed and a wardrobe. In front of the bedroom is the bathroom. Straightforward is the bedroom with two single iron beds in brass gold, a small table in walnut with a chair and an vintage wardrobe. The room is big enough for a third single bed if requested. All rooms are decorated in a traditional country style. Beamed ceilings and terracotta tiled floors are found throughout.

Facilities and equipment in the house:
The size of Leonardo is 68 sqm, with one bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, furnished garden, easy access to shared pool and parking at the villa. Provided with fresh bed linen and towels. With vintage furnitures, open fireplace, fan, drying rack, Vape plug-in (mosquito repellent), high children chairs and children bed available upon request - for free.

Why come to Villa Prono?
Leonardo is for lovers of nature and wine as we produce our own Chianti Classico at the villa. It is possible to visit the vineyards and the wine cellar. You may indeed enjoy the best wine at the top of the valley of Greve in Chianti, only a short drive from Florence and Siena. We live at 370 metres altitude. Perfect wine position!

During summer you will enjoy the swimming pool as much as we do. It has a top position among our organic olive trees with a lot of space to get a nice suntan. The villa is nice cool during day and night. Only if we really hit the max we all suffer.

The villa has a rustic style with respect for the original materials of the area. A lot of terracotta floors and wooden beam at the ceiling. The villa has a loooong story so make sure you want to hear it if you ask….

The villa is huge and we have other six houses where guests come and enjoy the countryside. We love to divide this peaceful place in the hills of Chianti. We love the silence and the incredible bird song of an evening. Also the stars in the nighttime. The trees. The garden is pretty nice too, although somewhat rural like a classic Mediterranean garden. It is definitely a place to relax and unwind. And walk.

Facilities for our guests:
Shared swimming pool with furnitures, shared barbecue in the garden, washing machine and ironing in separate room, free parking, we make reservations for restaurants and taxi, direct sales of wine, visit to wine cellar and vineyards. Approach road is paved in good conditions. Walking path between the vineyards to Greve in Chianti.

WIFI spot- it is good and works very well most of the time but not supergood. So if you want to download films and other heavy files please do it before leaving home because here you'll only have super fast connection to nature, wine and the famous Italian slow lifestyle.

About us:
We live Andrea - my husband - and me - Henriette - at the villa. We have children but they live in different countries. Apart from Italian Andrea speaks Dutch and English. I am Danish and speak Italian, English and German. We are easy going and love to talk about everything and of course - about wine. Sometimes I organise happy wine hour and mindfulness wine tasting for our guests. Andrea is more a wine-cellar-kind-of-guy!

A perfect place for guests who love and appreciate a rustic winery/villa in search for relax and unwind and who have a taste of real slow Chianti life.

Getting around:
From Greve there are regular buses to and from Florence and the journey takes about an hour. Unfortunately there is not a good public transport network in Chianti. We recommend that you come by car so that you can reach all the lovely, small towns around Chianti.

The local authority of Greve in Chianti levies a tax on non-residents staying overnight in the municipality (imposta di soggiorno). The cost is €1,5 per person (over 14 years old) per night for a maximum of seven nights. This tax needs to be paid in cash at the end of your stay on the table of the kitchen. Please remember as we often forget!

Nice place surrounded by panaramic view. Greve in Chianti is a nice small village with some good restaurants.

Although the house is located in a beautiful place in Tuscany it does not have the amenities necessary for a pleasant stay. What is announced does not correspond to what we found. We followed all the instructions on arrival, but nobody was there to receive us, and we were able to enter the house only because we found the key in the door. After that, poor and only superficial communication with the hosts. The basic equipment is incomplete especially in the kitchen, there are many insects and simple measures have not been implemented to prevent them from entering the house. Wi-fi connection only exists in a small place outside the house. The weather during our stay was very hot and the two small fans were completely insufficient to reduce the heat. Unfortunately our first disappointing experience on Airbnb.

The villa in great location, friendly hosts. Villa is rustic (slightly dated but authentic). Constructive feedback: we stayed for week with two kids and found villa to be lacking in some areas (no hairdryer/wine glasses/pool towels). The bathroom towels / bedding were not provided until evening of first day (may have been rare occurrence) which meant no shower after long drive (as we had not brought towels). Bathroom towels must not be used by pool (so bring towels) Washing machine available (€2) which worked very well but it is shared with owner and 5 other apartments so book your slot with owner. Drying rack in garden alongside garden table and deckchairs. Driveway up to villa allowed parking by front door very convenient but driveway is steep stoney trail, fine for SUV like ours but may be less good if you have a Lamborghini! Could park on paved driveway on owners side and walk otherwise. Short drive to Greve for supermarket and amazing butcher! plenty lovely restaurants close by (you must visit Oltre il giardino!). All in all a nice stay with the kids, who loved the pool, it is a large villa but also quite basic therefore if that's what you are looking for you will love it. If you want a few luxuries this probably isn't the place for you.

The view from the property is spectacular and the grounds are very pretty. We were supplied with a clean cot for our baby (no linen provided). However this stay fell short of expectations. The cottage is very dark and there are no views from the house. We had to supply our own toilet paper and dish washing liquid and we found the excess of 'rules' upon arrival to dampen the vibe. There were also a lot of mosquitos and ants indoors upon arrival which made it very uncomfortable to sleep. Wifi only works in a small courtyard outside, so no access in the cottage. No tour or introduction to the cottage was given by the host and we asked a couple of times for a tour of the property, including wine cellar, however this never eventuated. All in all, a disappointing stay.

Response from Henriette & Andrea:
Useful information for future guests: Yes, it is a rule that guests cannot bring their own guests to the villa. This rule is also a strike Airbnb rule to protect the host and their property. Still we often let people have a visit by friends to enjoy the garden and the pool area during day. But always with our permission as we need to respect the Italian anti-terror-legislation and in every instant should we be in place to tell the authority who is actually at the villa. Some understand it, others dont! We are in the country side and is nice for people who appreciate relax and peacefulness among the hills in Tuscany. As you may know this also means being in contact with nature. Dust, mosquitos and others flying or unflying subjects. We do our best to keep the houses nice and clean, and we always appreciate to be told if something is not as expected, so that we have the change to solve the issue. Tours around the villa and the wine cellar is not a service we provide on a business level. Only if it is possible and durable. Andrea was recovering from an operation and was not able to propose any tour! BUT remember in the area we have a lot of nice wine castles who have specialised in wine tours. Just ask for information. No problema!

The cottage 'Leonardo' really feels like the best situated of the five properties they rent. This one has a more private feel to it, with a little grass area on which they placed a garden table and chairs for breakfast/dinner. The views are great: if you want to get a feel for the Tuscan style, this definitely offers that. WIFI connection was not good - it really only is accessible from a very specific spot at the villa, next to the washing area. Due to the hillside area, 3G does not work as well as it would do at home. So please be aware you will be disconnected from your 'everyday life'. It is clear that Airbnb is only used as a administrative means to rent the property, it is not 'a house' that you would rent from private persons. Furniture-wise everything was there, but there really were no further amenities such as dish soap, cloths, toiletpaper, kichentowels, or anything like that. Please bring your own. Also be aware that the bedrooms only have very small windows, and it is nearly impossible to cool them down even just a few degrees for the night. We had some very warm days, around 34 degrees, and that heat crept up into the house. Meaning our nights were also very warm. With just a table fan to move around some air, it wasn't the most comfortable. The beds were pretty rough, we even used some blankets to soften the mattrass.

Response from Henriette & Andrea:
Useful information for future guests: Dish soap, cloths, toiletpaper (for the first days), kitchentowls and soap in the bathroom are in the house. We live at the villa and are frequently in contact with our guests. We always ask if everything is as expected and try our best to solve issuses which might occur. In this case we were several times in contact but never told that something were missing. Too bad we didnt get the change to meet this guests expectations. Airbnb permits holidays houses as well and in our listing it says clearly that this is not a private home but an agriturismo with six other houses. We try our best to put it in the describtion as well. The villa is not for people who need to be online most of their stay. It is a place for relax and silence. Many guests nowadays have good and modern mobilphones - with good antenna - and with their own homebased 4G-account they manage to receive data from every corner of the villa. Hot weather is a condition during summer. We do the best we can to meet the guests in the need to cool off. The pool is one. A good fan or two an other. It could of course be other more tecnical required solutions. Still we are the idea that we meet the expected value-for-money which most guests in Airbnb are searching for.

The place was very secluded and an easy drive from Greve. The owner was very helpful (he even brought extra fans for us) and the pool was a real hit with our two year old. Having lunch and wine (from the vineyard) among the olive groves was very special. Recommended.

We had a great stay at Villa Prono! Close to a small charming town that we really enjoyed, and driving distance to i.e Siena for those who prefer larger cities. Our Villa Prono apartment was private with the opportunity to spend long evenings outside in the beautiful surroundings. The possibility to cool down in the pool with a lovely surroundings among the olive trees were great during the hot days! And last but not least, we were lucky to experience the beautiful sunset our first night. Villa Prono gave us the authentic Italian experience we were hoping for before we arrived!
