Dave and Pat were extremely flexible with check-in, check-out times and process. Upon arrival, they were very welcoming and gave me a tour of the wonderful "OCHENTA Y DOS," which is even more beautiful in person, than online! I loved the open-air shower, with never-ending HOT water, and amazing water pressure! The rooftop terrace was a great place to hang out-spacious and private! Beds are soo comfortable I could have stayed there all day, if it weren't for the delicious breakfasts prepared daily! I enjoyed their balance of friendliness and professionalism, in a very relaxed and relaxing setting. Happy hours were a great time to hang out with the hosts and fellow guests for a drink and social interaction! The special "recuerdo" on the last day was the perfect final "detalle" to a very satisfying stay! Thank you!

Very nice and stylish place with all amenities. Dave and Pat are great hosts. We enjoyed the daily poolside aperitivo. Location is a bit of a walk from the nice central Parts of town...we were happy to have our car....

Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Pat and their friendly four dogs. The front door opens into a lovely living room that leads into the inner courtyard. The guest rooms are all pool side. They have used lighting dramatically to enhance the ambiance. There is a large roof top deck for sunbathing, parties, and has a fire pit. Our room was very nicely appointed. The bathroom is accented by an open air shower and garden. It is fantastic. The shower rains down soft water that has wonderful pressure! There is an in room bar with a sink and refrigerator. The room was very charming, exceedingly clean, and the bed was oh so comfortable! Each evening they have a happy hour serving an appetizer and wine or beverage. This is accompanied by interesting and stimulating conversation. The breakfasts are so delicious and served with flair. We were there for 19 days and never had a repeated breakfast menu! Dane and Pat Offered excellent suggestions for independent sightseeing and directions for bus or taxi. Dave provides excursions to various tourist sights. We enjoyed three trips with him. My husband had a dental concern and Dave and Pat made an excellent referral to their dentist. After 19 days we were sad to leave. We throughly enjoyed our stay. They said that their goal is for people to come to their B&B as guests and leave as friends. We definitely feel like a real connection was made. We shall be returning for a short stay next week and we are beginning to plan a trip to return with our daughter in the near future. Ochenta y Dos has charm, beauty, warmth, and comfort offered by the environment and orchestrated by the hosts, Dave and Pat. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This well designed oasis was exactly what I needed to start my exploration of Merida. Dave and Pat have opened a beautiful, relaxing and warm atmosphere that will remain one of my highlights of my Yucatan exploration. I enjoyed my comfortable BIG bed and the well thought out design of the suite. I was within steps of the pool which I definitely enjoyed. I highly recommend this place and I will return when I come back to Merida.

Excellent experience. Dave and Pat welcomed us warmly into their beautiful b&b and provided excellent recommendations. Breakfast was delicious, the room was luxurious, and the hosts were super helpful/friendly. Beware that it's a good 25 minute walk to the city center. However, we had a car, so this wasn't an issue.

Ochenta y Dos was like a home away from home. We felt like we were visiting friends. The room was perfect. I especially liked having the refrigerator and the bathroom was very nice. We are dog lovers and having the four dogs to play with made the stay even more homey. The neighborhood was quiet and within walking distance to the center of town. The breakfasts were huge and delicious. Eating around a dining room table and having interesting conversations with other guests was a special touch. Happy hour was fun and more conversation and sharing experiences. It was so helpful to have hosts who knew the area and could make informed suggestions. They had activities planned to see all the sites if you wanted and this made it so much more simple for us to explore the Yucutan than if we had had to do it all on our own. The big family home-cooked dinner we had one night was tasty, fabulous, and the perfect touch. You could not find a better place to stay in Merida!

We are misplaced New Englanders who lived in "the Valley of The Sun" in Phoenix Arizona for over 11 years and are now on to our next adventure in Merida. Merida is such a great place to live, we have a beautiful home here in the Centro historic district and Mayan ruins just a short drive away. We also have a mountain retreat upon the Mogollon Rim in Pine, AZ. It's at an elevation of 6,000 feet, give or take a few, and only 110 miles away from Phoenix AZ and about 30 degrees cooler.

We have a great time , we are world travelers and our new goal is to go completly around the world on a ship.. not all at once-since we have to work for a living. Our goal is to stay put on retirement day and rock on the porch enjoying the mountain air.. RIGHT... not. We will be off on another adventure the day after the social security hits the automatic deposit. There will be no looking back.

We have three dogs, Mini, Max and Mario and a cat called Mona- who actually thinks she's a dog. Our homes is warm, friendly and inviting.. We are great cooks, hosts and enjoy the occasional (daily) happy hour. Our professions are completely different from each other, one is a free-lance travel writer, social columnist and non- profit creative strategist and the other the aero space industry.. ummm guess that's what makes it work.

We have been offering our Mountain retreat in Pine for rental since 2010. We also had a rental suite in Phoenix since 2012 until our move to Merida in June 2015.
