About this listing

This a bright and airy lower unit full apartment with a open kitchen living area and separate bedroom and bathroom. You have garden views and your own private entrance.

There is a small kitchen with a microwave, 2 ring burner and fridge.

This apartment is down two flights of stairs and may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.

The space

This is a separate apartment consisting of a queen size bedroom, kitchen/living room and private bathroom with a shower. This unit has a separate entrance so there is lots of privacy.

It is newly remodeled and has a queen bed with a new european pillow top mattress, flat screen tv, wifi, ipod dock. I leave your kitchen stocked with tea, coffee, milk and breakfast items to get you started. The kitchen is brand new and has a refrigerator and microwave. There is a wall of windows/french doors so there is lots of light.

There is also a washer and dryer in this unit.

There is an aero bed and all the associated linens for an extra/third person.

There is street parking and no permits needed. There is often a spot directly opposite the car deck.

Sausalito is really a fishing village and is twinned with Portofino, Italy - you get the picture. There are great restaurants 3 blocks away with..

- Cafe Divino - italian and live music
- Plate Shop - cocktails and american cuisine
- Sartaj - locals pit stop - amazing indian food
- Cibo - great coffee and breakfast
- Bocce - pizza and bocce ball on the waterfront

There is a quaint town with cute stores and lots of hike and bike rides. I have a whole list of attractions and rental outlets that I will leave for you in your room.

- take the ferry to the city
- paddle board around the bay
- hike mount tam
- bike to Tiburon and have lunch on the harbor at Sams
- walk to Mill Valley and lunch at The Depot in the village square

This house is unique in that it was built on the site of Sausalitos water tower so it is 22 steps down from street level and has a private walled garden.

Just so you know, I have a small 12lb dog called Mocha. He is curious and checks the property for raccoon damage each morning so you may see him. Careful he's a lover!

This property is only available for short term rentals of 30 days or more as per Sausalito short term rental laws.

Interaction with guests

The housekeeper will have everything ready for you. I live in the upper unit from time to time so may be there to meet you. Access is easy with a lockbox by the door.

Other things to note

There are about 22 steps down to the front door so this apartment may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.

Street parking can narrow.

Check in was terrible. The directions cited that we should look for a pink ribbon in a tree (no ribbon exist). The house's green mailbox was actually red and the yellow minicooper was actually covered and is blue. I called the host with no answer. Once you find the apartment, beware that the unit upstairs is also an airbnb. The unit we stayed in was so cold and there isn't a thermostat in the unit. I used the small pull out heater which wasn't mentioned I the guidebook.

Response from Tanyia:
I am so sorry that you had such difficulty checking in. I had sent you check in instructions and never heard back from you. What a shame that you didn't contact me through Airbnb I could have resolved the heating issue for you immediately. Apologies for your stay.

We loved Sausolito, and my husband fell in love with this place!!! We enjoyed exploring all the beautiful sites close by and the town itself. We did not have any problems on our stay there. Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your beautiful get away. We will be back for sure!!!

Our stay was very enjoyable. It was like staying in a treehouse (without the bugs). Sausalito is a wonderful little town with a lot of good options for eating and going into San Francisco was an easy trip.

Great place in a beautiful city. Tanya accommodated last minute, after our previous booking was cancelled. One of my favorite stays, though it was very short.

Tanyia had very thoughtfully left a bottle of wine and truffles for us, as well as a detailed booklet of suggestions and instructions. The place is beautiful, full of green veggitation. It's quiet and lovely and a quick commute into the city to see everything there. We had to leave early due to a family emergency but would definitely like to go back to spend more time exploring. A fantastic place to stay!

We'll be recommending Tanyia's place to friends for years to come. Such a sweet stay - quiet, private, and on a perfect neighborhood street in Sausalito. Definitely recommend a car -- those hills going up are steep! :) Check-in/out was super slick; we felt as though we had our very own home while we were there.

We loved this place and love Sausalito so much!!! It's the perfect place to stay with the option to stay in this cute town or take a ferry or a bus to San Francisco. The apartment is clean and modern and has everything you need! I would suggest bringing ear plugs for sleeping because you can hear a lot from upstairs but we were up early so it didn't bother us. Also if you have problems walking up and down stairs we did feel our young fit bodies were necessary to carry our ligggage down and up the stairs. I would recommend this place to any healthy traveler!

I am a global ethnographer so I am on the road a lot. It's my job to meet people from all walks of life. Recently I spent a year in China researching women across the country and so why not open my home up and meet people in my own back garden so to speak!

These are my homes but i travel so much so you may never actually see me if that's more comforting!

I just landscaped the front garden. There is a huge dining table there which you are welcome to use anytime. Back garden is next...

Please let me know if there is anything that I can organize for you stay in advance. I would be happy to help.

I look forward to meeting you.

Best. Tanyia
