Metropolis on Park has one of the best locations in Sandton. It is within five minutes safe walk of the Sandton Gautrain station and Mandela Square/Sandton City shopping. Tash's place also has the most amazing views over Mushroom Farm Park. This is an intimate city centre green space with an overriding feature of the HUGE Huyndai balloon. The crisp winter mornings of Johannesburg were a joy to wake up to looking out over the park. Evenings equally stunning, the local buildings bathed in coloured light mean that closing the curtains to close the view was always a difficult decision. One of the weekends I was there a concert for Mandela Day was held in the park, fantastic, just like having the best backstage pass! The apartment is stunning, the layout, the furniture, the fittings... everything is top end and luxurious. I particularly enjoyed the fully fitted kitchen and the WiFi/ TV/Sound system. Whilst I was there broadband WiFi was installed. Security of the place is second to none that I have experienced. There is 24/7 security at the main entrance which requires a key fob to lift the boom. After dark the gates are closed as an extra security measure and the guards have to let you in. Reception is also staffed 24/7 and to get into any of the private areas, lifts, and stairwells again the key fob is required. Car parking is underground, well lit and with direct access to the lifts. There is a cafe/bistro on the ground floor, I only used it once for coffee and a muffin for breakfast on the go but service there too is efficient and prices very reasonable. Tash was an amazing host. Unfortunately I never got to meet him but he replied to all my requests and queries within a couple of hours. The switch on the kettle broke, I told Tash, and by the time I got back from work the kettle had been replace. Truly excellent service in every aspect. This is a place I would certainly recommend. Had a great stay, very central and conveniently located. Good for executive stays. Apartment was very clean and had most of the utensils we needed for our 1 week stay. The internet was a little temperamental but generally worked fine after a reboot.
