Neighbourhood highlights

Castellaneta is a Apulian town located in the heart of the Gravine Regional Park, in an area of great natural, historical and archaeological value, in that part of the province of Taranto better known as the Ionian Arch. The structure of the old town is a medieval matrix, with the presence of numerous narrow alleys and streets.
Among the most important buildings, the Cathedral, built in 1220, from the beautiful Baroque facade, carved wooden ceiling and the caretaker inside of a precious painting of the Santa Croce.
In the old village there are numerous stately palaces, a sign of the great turning of feudalists on this territory. A reminder is the Catalan Palace with its oriental facade, the Sarapo Palace with its baroque gate and the D'Alagni, Lagroia and Frisini palaces.
