´La Florida` is a lovely restored house in the village of Florida de Liebana. It is only 14 km NW of Salamanca, and It´s a great place for discovering one of Spain´s most beautiful cities whilst enjoying the peace and quiet of a small village.
Florida de Liebana has approx. 290 inhabitants and it extends along the nearby River Tormes, which later joins the River Duero. There are great places to walk, the irrigated fertile plains by the river, and the dry woodland of holm oak trees (encinas) on the surrounding hills.
There is access to all parts of the house apart from a small tool shed in the exterior patio area which is used for maintenance purposes.

The city of Salamanca (approx. 230,000 inhabitants) is large enough to offer the advantages of a real city, but at the same time, keep the intimacy of a village. You can go practically everywhere on foot.
The “purest” Spanish is supposedly spoken here and for this reason Salamanca is very popular with people from all over the world who want to learn Spanish.
It is considered to be the “City of Knowledge” as the university is the oldest in Spain (1254).
The main square is one of the most beautiful 'plazas' in Spain.
