We have a quiet, wild corner of our garden where folk sometimes stay in our tentipi. A good option if you love camping but are travelling light. Go off-grid and enjoy an outdoor adventure in one of the most beautiful parts of the world! Relax around the campfire in your own exclusive outdoor living room, then retire to bed in the tipi. A private, tucked-away woodland campsite all ready and set up just for you.
Note: If you're looking for a luxury place with bathroom, this is not for you!

The space
We're not offering a luxury B&B, this is a more basic outdoors experience! There's a well designed dry compost loo on site. Cold water is available from a nearby tap for filling up a bucket for washing. We advise to bring bottled drinking water due to our peaty, untreated supply. Lots of trees, hills, beaches nearby, and stunning mountain and loch views. On the ground inside the tipi is gravel and stones. We provide the essential camping equipment that you need to be comfortable, including a sheltered off-grid outdoor living area with fire-bowl, table and chairs, basic cooking and washing-up equipment. The tipi has camping-beds but you’ll need your own sleeping bags, pillows and towels. We hope you enjoy your adventure with us and appreciate this special part of the world! We are allowing extra time between bookings for cleaning the area.

With such good memories of travelling, and having been on the receiving end of amazing hospitality and friendliness over the years, we're enjoying paying it back! In 2005 we set up Wildwood Bushcraft - providing outdoor courses and experiences to those who want to learn survival skills in beautiful wilderness environments. In 2010 we moved to the west coast of Scotland, and project-managed the build of our wooden house, which was an adventure in itself! We also now have bees, chickens and ducks and a friendly collie dog, and are slowly turning the land around our home into a permaculture-inspired forest garden. Since 2015, alongside our other work, we've enjoyed welcoming a few guests during the summer months, to our tipi, shepherd's hut or caravan. Alison hosts creative retreats and art experiences from her studio, and Leon hosts canoe, wildlife and foraging experiences also via Airbnb. We enjoy meeting folks who appreciate the simple outdoor life, and this special location. Look forward to meeting you! Alison & Leon
