This is a great remodeled home in a neighborhood that you can spend weeks exploring all of the fabulous dining spots! Check out my guidebook with all of my close by favorites!

The space

This is a classic and thoughtfully remodeled 1911 Craftsman style Portland bungalow. There are two guest rooms, each with a separate listing. The home has hardwood floors, it's well insulated, forced air heat, and a tankless on demand hot water heater so you will always have a hot shower! Ceramics, sculpture, paintings, and prints are throughout the house. My ceramic studio is in the basement.

The location is near the Alberta Arts district, close to three bus lines and not too far from the Max line. Walk or easy bike to co-op and several grocery stores, seasonal farmer´s markets are nearby on Saturdays and Sundays, N Williams and Mississippi Ave also nearby for lots of great restaurants, coffee shops, live music, Peninsula Park historic rose garden, library, and so much more! It's an easy 15 minute drive to the airport or the Pearl District and Downtown.

Some of the best food that Portland has to offer is located right in the neighborhood. The options seem endless, but if you need suggestions, I have lived here a long time and know many of the best places to dine and drink and see a show.

The two bedrooms are on the main floor on either side of the shared bathroom. There is a comfortable memory foam and spring style queen size bed, dresser, spacious closet, and a small desk.

The kitchen is spacious and filled with lots of handmade dishes. Filtered water is on the refrigerator door and a coffee maker and grinder are available.

There is a nice front porch with sitting area and landscaped yard with lots of large trees, native style garden and patio seating in the back with a BBQ and outdoor fireplace.

Eli the bengal mix cat that lives here mainly stays in my bedroom upstairs or outside if the weather is nice. He doesn't shed much, so if allergies are an issue you may not even notice it here.

Guest access

You will have a full bathroom with a clawfoot tub and shower right next to the bedroom that is shared with the other guest room, all on the main floor. The kitchen has a microwave, coffee pot, refrigerator in case you need to store your leftovers, snacks, cold drinks. I have coffee and tea available for you to make in the mornings. Dining and living room also on the main floor, and there is a patio table in the backyard and you are welcome to sit on the covered front porch.

Interaction with guests

My schedule varies day to day, but if you have questions about getting around town or would like suggestions for places to go, and you are always welcome to message me if I'm not there.

Other things to note

I have a very old cat, and sometimes he gets a bit vocal. Don't be alarmed because he sounds like a baby crying!

Cynthia's place is very charming. If you can't do stairs you might have a little trouble getting into her place, but other than that it is a great place to stay. Nice access to activities and restaurants in the Portland area. Great value.

Cynthia's place was inviting, cosy and in a cute spot in Portland. The bed was so comfortable and all the decorations made it a unique airbnb. There were delicious herbal teas on offer and cold water from the fridge. We walked to Alberta Street and had an amazing dinner and cocktails at Bamboo Sushi. Being close to the airport was a must for us and it was so quick and easy to get to! Thankyou Cynthia. Emma and Cam. :)

My stay was so wonderful at Cynthia's charming bungalow. My daughter and I were greeted so warmly by Cynthia at check in; we felt right at home. If you're new to town and need suggestions on where to go, definitely chat with Cynthia for the best places to visit in Portland. The house has so much character, I loved the artsy and retro decor and every piece was so enjoyable to look at. I really recommend staying here!

Cynthia User ProfileCynthia is a superhost.

I'm a ceramic artist and also teach classes. I spend my free time cooking, working in the yard, making things, and enjoying good wine, beer, and food. I've been in Portland for almost 20 years and living here suits me well! I love the food and drink scene here, and regularly go out to visit art galleries and live music.
