About this listing

1950's vintage cabin on a 280 acre lake - complete with a dock, porch, deck, LP gas grill and outdoor fire pit. The cabin has a 48" Samsung Smart HD TV/WiFi. Owners live next door; so renters have access to 2 kayaks and 3 bikes.

The space

This lake home is just 45 minutes from live theater, art, music, sports teams, parks, and bike trails. There are also nearby biking trails. There are 2 bedrooms and a hide-a-bed. One bath with a shower. Bedding and towels are provided. Living room and a kitchen/dinette area includes refrigerator, stove and microwave. Fully equipped kitchen. Knotty cedar porch overlooking the lovely lake. Front and side decks. LP gas grill and outdoor fire pit. Large, detached garage with stackable washer/dryer. A Smart /DVD player. WiFi, wireless internet and cable TV.

Guest access

The lake cabin is all yours! If you have your own boat, there is a public access on the lake and you can tie up at the cabin's dock. This changes as we enter the Fall Season...owner will remove the dock, as the weather dictates, but the view from the deck and fire pit are beautiful.

Interaction with guests

We live right next door, so we are available to you as much or as little as you want.

Other things to note

You will need a rental car to get here. A convenience store/gas station/bait shop/pizza is nearby and all other services/restaurants/stores are within 10-15 minutes.

A cozy cabin right by Martin Lake, where you can swim, kayak, take a bike ride or just sit on the dock and listen to the loons. The house is small and pleasant and very clean. There are lots of towels, and a washing machine and a dryer. In the garage there are bicycles that guests can use. We also borrowed a couple of kayaks. The hosts Julie and Gordie are very friendly and helpful. They respond promptly and you get all the help and information you need and more. In the kitchen there is a binder and a basket with a lot of information about places to eat, attractions, historical sites etc in the area. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely have this accommodation as one of our first options if we go to Minnesota again. I can recommend this to everyone.

I stayed here with my ladies the night before my wedding and than with my husband our wedding night. It was perfect, peaceful place to land after the chaos of wedding planning. Julie even had a bottle of moscato chilling for us when we arrived. I would highly recommend

Both Julie and her husband were amazing hosts! The cottage was spotless, well appointed with all of the necessities, and the view was.amazing! The varied decks, dock and fire pit area gave many options for relaxing, and the enclosed front room provides a great view even in wet/chilly weather!

Julie and Gordy are simply the best! I felt very welcome and safe. The cabin was lovely, very clean, and well taken care of. You can't beat the view and location! I saw loons and jumping fish, and gorgeous birds of plenty... a spectacular thunderstorm as it rolled in.... AND I got my thesis written... the very reason I was there. I feel so blessed to have spent time there and will for sure be back for a fun trip next time!

I am a retired first grade teacher but keep my hand in education by substitute teaching. I love to read, walk, bike, travel and fly with my husband, Gordy.
Gordy is retired from the Minnesota Air National Guard after over 38 years. He is a private pilot and is quite passionate about flying and aviation. He loves projects, so can often be found tinkering in the garage or working on the lawn.
We both love our lake and lake home, bird watching, wine making, and biking/walking together as well as travel. Our daughter and son-in-law live in the UK, so we often travel there (and they come here) but we also travel with them - France, Italy, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Ecuador, UK and the US.
We really enjoy meeting new people, from all over, so Airbnb has been a great experience for us!
