The space

Our home is your home. Feel free to take an evening walk around our five acre wooded property after helping yourself to our gardens, a perfect addition to all the fish you caught out in Kachemak Bay. Spend your mornings drinking coffee or tea on our deck taking in the tremendous views-keep in mind that the view from the master bedroom will be a wonderful way to start your day! Above all else, relax with your family in our baby and toddler proof home. In addition to our master bedroom, we have one guest room with a double bed futon and one kids' room that has a crib, a double bed on the floor and an additional air mattress if need be. Wifi is available throughout the whole house, or tuck yourself away in the office. Our open style kitchen merges with our living room, making it a lively spot for the whole family. Make our cozy Alaska home your Shangri-La.

Guest access

The whole house will be yours.

Interaction with guests

Our family will be out of town, but extended family live nearby to welcome you and answer any questions.

The neighbourhood

Our home is nine miles east of Homer. This short 13 minute drive is just enough time to decompress from your exciting day and relax with your family. Hill Street is a quiet gravel road with a handful of neighbors whose homes are out of sight. Moose and plethora of birds, including Sandhill Cranes, are also our neighbors. Fritz Creek General Store is just a mile down the hill from our house. Here you can pick up anything you forgot in town, grab a delicious pizza, or pick up a six-pack. Just across the street from Fritz Creek General Store is the Homestead Restaurant, which offers five star dining, specializing in steak and seafood.

Getting around

You will want to have your own car or a rental car. Public transportation is few and far between in Homer, though the taxis will pick up and drop off.

Other things to note

The third bed is a mattress on the floor in our son's room. It probably would be more comfortable for a child. There is also a crib if you have a baby. We do not have cable TV. We have a smart TV with minimal access to shows and a small collection of DVD's that can be watched in the downstairs guest bedroom.
We have water delivered and would appreciate all the water conservation you can do. The hot water takes a little while to reach the end point. Please be gentle with our septic system, meaning nothing but paper please:)
The hot tub is empty and not in use at this time, so sorry!

Amanda communicated with me extremely well and made the check in very easy. We enjoyed having a relatively larger group of people all able to spend a weekend hanging out, playing board games, and exploring Homer with plenty of room for us all in the house. The garden is a nice addition and it's a lovely home.

From the time we found this listing with it's breathtaking photos to the time we actually arrived, we were in awe of this home. Amanda welcomed us into their place and we were so excited to have such a great rental. She even allowed us to pick a few of her herbs for our fresh fish. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms very clean. Every room has a view of the gorgeous mountains. You can't go wrong renting this listing!!

I can't say enough good things about our stay here. This was our first experience using Airbnb. Let's just say we will never use a hotel again. We have 2 extremely active toddlers that were very sad to say goodbye to this place. They had a big playground set-up in their front yard, a sand pit, and TONS of toys inside that kept them busy. The child-proof deck was also a huge bonus for being able to let the kids and dog out. The house was charming and cozy on the inside with an immaculate view all around. I am impressed with our will-power to leave the house for the shorebird festival. We could have stayed there the whole time. :) Thank you, Amanda!

What a beautiful home in the middle of paradise! I wanted to live here! The views are stunning and the land/home is spacious. We have three dogs and they loved running around the property. We arrived late and the house was left open for us. So much space with two bedrooms and a loft with a mattress and baby crib. The kitchen had everything needed to cook elaborate meals including lots of spices and great K-bay coffee. I loved the wood burning stove and fire pit. Big window in the home brought in natural light and the big windows in the master bedroom had views of the ocean. All the shampoo and cleaning products provided were organic. I will definitely stay here again. I also wanted to make a comment about how reasonable priced this home was. We had previously stayed in a run down motel in Homer for the same price. This was a great value for someone with 3 dogs

This place was super cute! Everything was set up perfectly for us to enjoy our stay. Its a quick 15 minute ride to the spit. We also enjoyed some zucchini and herbs from the hosts garden.

Amanda was extremely easy to work with and easy to contact to ask questions. She made us feel completely welcome. The home was very clean and there was very nice pots and pans and lots of wonderful spices to use. Great kitchen! Furthermore, she encouraged us to pick some of the yummy vegetable from her garden. It was an extremely pleasant place to stay and we felt right at home.
