Guest access

Each stay comes with access to: your own BBQ grill, U-pick oyster beach (check zone 12 Hood Canal for status of beach, may be closed in summer months due to the effect of high water temps on oysters), indoor hot tub and sauna, dock, boat launch, air house (scuba), kayak and paddle boat rentals, swimming, children's play area and waterfront fire pits.

Interaction with guests

Upon arrival you will check in at the office, pay the tax (13.5% cash or card) and receive the keys to your Airstream.

Other things to note

Flushing Basics: legit '69 vintage airstream

Rather than a handle on a tank like you would have at home, a travel trailer toilet has a pedal located underneath the bowl. You fill the provided jug up with water and put into toilet and pressing this pedal with your foot causes a flap to open at the base of the bowl. That is a successful flush.

Bring boots and a shucking knife if you plan on picking Oysters. No experience necessary, one of our family members will be more than happy to explain you how it is done.

Check in was a breeze and Sara reached out ahead of time to make sure everything went smoothly. The staff onsite were friendly and welcoming. The location of the trailer is a bit deceptive as it is in a driveway, but this was zero issue for us as the view from the deck off the airstream was amazing! We watched seals play and had use of the community fire pit area. The beach has an hour each day where you can harvest oysters & clams. This is no frills and it is really straight out of 1969. We were charmed (we didn't care about twin beds and the water was nice and hot) but some really simple upgrades would make this much more comfortable.

I love the place. The view is stunning. Sarah is very flexible with chk-ins and out time. I would bot hesitate recommending her place to anyone.

Response from Sara:
This was cancelled the same day the reservation was made due to a mix up with the dates which were already taken. We stand behind our reservations and would not cancel your reservation. This was a mix up and the guest accepted our honest apology and there were no hard feelings.

It was easy to find with the instructions, right off the 101.

The airstream was definitely vintage, but had all that we needed! The beds were comfy, the bath water was hot, it as clean, and the view was spectacular! It was perfect for a quick stay, and we will stay again if ever in this area.

The airstream was a cozy and clean place to stay for one night. It is old and had a musty smell, but had a great view of Hood Canal. The place is 9 miles north of Lilliwaup and difficult to find with just the address. Milage marker would have helped. I also did not know that it was located at Mike's Beach Resort. The pictures are a little deceptive. It is not in a picturesque location, but merely parked in the driveway to the resort. I did not meet Sara and had a hard time finding the office which was located down a steep hill. There was no hot water for a shower in the morning. No wifi available. Sitting on the deck was fine until loud neighbors below us began to converse and smoke. So went back in the airstream which was quickly turning into an oven.

We really enjoyed the airstream. It is not in a wooded area as shown in the photos, it is parked to the side of the entrance driveway on asphalt. However, the view is great. We were happy with the experience - it felt very vintage, almost like we were actually in the 60s. Although I have no experience with that time... so I guess it reminded me of the Wonder Years if it were a summer camp. Which in my book is great!!
