Private room with you own guest bath. My 1940's home short 1/2 mile walk to Myers Park with tennis and swimming and 1/2 mile to beautiful Cascades Park Less than a mile to the Capitol Bldg. A quick .3 walk to FAMU and 1.5 mile to Wescott Building, FSU. Restaurants and a variety of diners are also nearby.
Your room has hardwood floors, closet space. desk and a small, TV, and WIFI. The bed is cozy and plush (note to prior guests - you'll be happier as I replaced the old softy!) Private bath with a newly added bidet.
Enjoy the living room, dining room with large table and pretty view and a large, accommodating kitchen. Walk out the kitchen to a large, quiet screen porch where you may hang out and relax in the two swinging hammock chairs or dine at the hardwood table. You may lounge out on the backyard patio and firepit. A washer/drier is also there for your use.
Interaction with guests
I'm residing in the house so will usually be available. Some days and nights I may be away but may be contacted. The guest bedroom and bath are separated from the master bedroom by a hall and an office, enhancing your privacy.
Other things to note
The neighborhood is eclectic with beautiful, large homes along with some more quaint apartments/duplexes. There are a diversity of young and older folks of all walks of life. It feels safe and relaxing to walk to the parks or downtown.
The railroad runs along Cascades Park - .4 miles to the north. The occasional whistles are not loud but are definitely audible. Most guests remark about how nice it is to hear the trains.
I am happy about sharing my place with you but if you don't mind please keep the following house guidelines:
1. Please keep things as clean as you found them. Enjoy the kitchen and coffee maker. I'll try to have the timer set to make some java most mornings. Otherwise, make your own anytime with my provided whole beans. Go ahead and put any food you like or beverages in refrigerator (on a space available basis). Feel free to use one of my coolers (on the back porch). Use plates, cups, glasses and either wash or put in dishwasher for me.
2. Please don't smoke in the house. I don't smoke but have friends that do so the back porch is fine, within reason. I'll leave a container out for ashes/butts.
3. The number of guests in the reservation are the only people allowed to stay, but it's okay to have friends/guests visit.
4. No loud, late parties please.
Looking forward to having you stay :-)
I'm mostly retired from a 34 year career as a meteorologist. I can still provide you a forecast for your day! Now, I enjoy life in Tallahassee, improving my new home, landscape gardening, mountain biking, walking the golf course, canoeing, swimming and snorkeling, fishing and more. There's also the joy of music at home or live venues around town. Day trips to the coast just to the south are always happening. Instagram - goreeb
I'm enjoying hosting through Airbnb. It's rewarding to help people enjoy visiting Tallahassee and the area.
