An eco-friendly, light and spacious abode that opens onto a secluded garden courtyard in a small beach village close to Cairns and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Enjoy unique indoor/outdoor living beneath giant rainforest trees and exotic palms. Shower under the stars!

The space

Your accommodation is private, light and bright and is fully self contained to provide an easy and unique tropical holiday experience.
It is situated in my rainforest garden under the canopy of very large rainforest trees inhabited by lots of exotic birds. An attractive beach styled bungalow, it has a creative, natural and peaceful ambience and will appeal to those who love living close to nature.
The main bedroom provides a quality comfortable Q/S bed furnished with pure cotton bedding. The windows beside the bed open to view tropical palms and giant rainforest trees against the beautiful blue of the sky.
There is a daybed which offers comfortable additional sleeping and provision for a 4th person can also be arranged.
* Bath towels and beach towels are provided.
The room offers a TV with the daybed for relaxing, viewing or just easy reading.
There are plenty of drawers and a large walk in cupboard for you to unpack your things.
The kitchenette area is separate from the bedroom and is fully equipped with a fridge, kettle, coffee machine, toaster, cook top, microwave and everything you need to prepare and enjoy light snacks as well as fresh and wholesome holiday meals which can be enjoyed in the dining area or, weather permitting, outside in the private garden courtyard.
The courtyard, at the base of the giant rainforest Milky Pine, is furnished with an outdoor dining setting inviting unique tropical dining during the morning, day, or under the stars and the moonlight at night.
The accommodation offers its own tropical indoor / outdoor bathing. An outdoor shower and indoor toilette is accessed just outside your door and across the private little courtyard. To shower (with hot and cold water) under the canopy of the trees and brightly coloured flowers of the rainforest is a wonderful option to a conventional bathroom and a uniquely tropical experience!
The garden courtyard is privately accessed and has been designed under the shade of a rainforest giant - the Milky Pine, which is one of the tallest trees in the rainforest. Another stunning and elegant rainforest tree, the Flame Tree, also towers above, along with exotic palms and the bright and colourful pink hibiscus.
Visually stunning, these trees and their canopy create a unique and beautiful ambiance which is simply stunning at night!
Butterflies and sun birds play on the flowers and a sea breeze keeps the accommodation pleasantly cool and comfortable all year round. The tropical garden canopy also offers a cool retreat and fans provide any extra breeze that may be required.
Rainbow lorikeets, sulphur crested cockatoos, black cocatoos, kookaburras and the Torres Straight pigeons are just some of the many birds you may enjoy as they play and feed in the overhead canopy.

Guest access

There is easy private access to your accommodation along a side pathway and the entrance to your accommodation.

A delightful little hideaway in a peaceful, beautiful beach village very close to Cairns. Annie is an excellent host and ever so helpful with any questions or requests, we wish we could have stayed longer.

It is THE beach house. The place is lovely, you get the feeling you are sleeping in open air, but with all the comforts of a house: comfortable beds, clean room. The birds will wake you up in the morning. Annie is very kind and welcoming, she would ask what we needed, and gave us suggestions for our stay in Queensland. I recommend this place absolutely.

Annies is a charming escape from city life. Lots of green leafy surrounds on an open relaxed airy place. She is helpful in guiding you to not try and do too much if time precious and avoid the hustle of busy tourism. Thanks again Graeme

What a charming room and private courtyard. We loved the huge tall tree our place was built around, especially in the morning when there was so much bird activity overhead. Annie has chosen some great Indigenous art for the space too.

Annie's charming rainforest retreat was great for my little Cairns holiday. Bed was very comfortable! Annie was a great host with a detailed guide to Cairns. Would be cautious about staying during wet season because you have to walk outside to get to the shower/toilets.
