Great place!! Nice living, rooftop and floor with bedrooms. Saida can make breakfast if you want. thats nice. sidenote; Saida made us pay double for the cleaning. Why wasnt clear due to our language barrier.
We had a wonderful time at Nicolas'riad. Ideally placed in the lively medina but quiet. The children played a lot with all the kids on our street. close to the beach. The house was bright, comfortable and spacious for the 5 of us. Saïda who looks after the place was wonderful too: a great cook she prepared Moroccan breakfasts and diners for us. She took us to the local hammam. We had a super interesting stay !
Nicolas's Ryad was absolutely beautiful! Situated right next to Bab Marakech, which is one of the main gates into the Medina, we found it really well located. The house itself was perhaps bigger than we needed as we weren't that many people, but it was lovely to have the privacy of our own home amongst the bustle of the souk. For us I think the thing that really made staying in Nicolas's Ryad, was meeting Saida and her wonderful family. The breakfasts that she prepared were wonderful, but the real pleasure was her company. Although we don't speak any French and she in turn didn't speak any English we managed to communicate and her lovely nature shone through. One thing I feel I should point out, is that the Ryad does not have any internet connection which is something we assumed would be included in the price. But this actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it meant that we were able to trully switch off and escape from our lives back home.. Which was our reason for visiting Essaouira in the first place! All in all, we loved everything about Essaouira and the fact that we were staying in such a lovely home definitely added to that! Many thanks !
