A very spacious apartment in vivid and multicultural location in the city center. It takes only 10min by bus to the airport (TXL) and main railway station. There's enough space for 6 people (bed& two bed sofas), dishwasher, microwave, espresso etc.
Check-in is anytime after 3PM
Check out by 11AM
Nina's flat is very easy to reach from Tegel Airport, and is close to public transport. The house was big enough for 4. She is also very responsive to messages. But we had a major problem of smell, we were first told it was because the previous guests smoked inside and it was iar…
Response from Nina:
I am very disappointed to be rated like this. Noone ever lied to Tugce about the LIGHT smell in the apartment. Please, refer to the comments from the tenates before and after Tugce to get an alternative opinion about current condition of the apartment. Noone also told her the details where the smells comes form (and yes, these were previous tenants who smoked inside though it's stricktly prohibited). There's still a very light smell in the apartment but definitely nothing to get sick off. All the bed linen and towels are washed at 95°C after every tenants so it's not possible they've been smelling. Tugce has never complained to me about it by herself. She only admitted it after I appologized for this inconvenience by myself. Concerning the Location. The Apartment is very centally located! It takes 10-15min by bus to get to Brandenburger Gate or Zoologischer Garten. It's enough to take a look on (Hidden by Airbnb) maps to get convinced. The area around is not posh but very international and vivid. Tiergarten/Moabit is a tipical Berlin borough with lots of artist and students. That's tipical Berlin and that's what makes Berlin different from the rest of european capitals. On the last night before check-out Tugce started complaining about bed linen and directly asked me for the late check-out. I explained that generally it's no problem but only if there're no tenants coming on the same day (we need time to get the apartment ready). Tugce was welcome to check-in at 11am (thought official check-in start at 4pm). Unfortunately, late check-out was not possible in her case. I can see this as the only reason for such an Review. Alltogether I'm very sorry to be evaluated like this. If the Apartment was so bad she should have told me about the problems and eventuall directly notify Airbnb and ask for the refund. It also sounds very unfair considering the fact that Tugce got the apartment on a highly discounted price (40€/night for 75sqm central located apartment during film festival).
This was a great place to stay. The neighbourhood may not seem like the greatest, depending on what you're used to, but we had no issues whatsoever. The building wasn't the greatest on the outside, but inside the suite it was great! We had a lot of space, and it was very clean…
Response from Nina:
Dear Kendall, thanks a lot for staying in the apartment and nice review. The only thing I would to comment is the neighbourhood and the outside look of the building. The neighborhood isn't a posh villa area but it's totally safe and tourist friendly and the house outside has a typical Berliner end 19th-beginning 20th century look. There must be a reason why Berlin is called "poor but sexy" ;) Once again thanks for pointing out the good things about apartment and I would love to host again any time.
