Other things to note
In addition, for fishing and sporting fans there is Lake Dora, on the famous
Florida Harris Chain of Lakes! The house, with private parking for a boat and car is just a few blocks from the Mount Dora landing and Marina! You can launch your boat within minutes after breakfast and be on your way to the interconnected Harris Chain of Lakes.
The lakes are a fisherman and boaters paradise. Local bass fishing tournaments are held on a weekly basis and the Harris Chain is now a popular stop on the ESPN B.A.S.S. Tournament Trail with its great fishing highlighted on many outdoor TV shows.
With so much water to explore, you never get tired of finding out what's around the next corner. A popular day trip is to boat north from Lake Griffin to visit the famous Silver Springs in Ocala. The round trip can be completed in one day and it is well worth the effort. And you can be back at the house for dinner or to visit the Mount Dora Brewing Company and restaurant right next door!
Mount Dora is also only 35 minutes from Disney World!

I am a watercolor painter and love to cook, bike ride, hike, read, garden, participate in art and craft shows, and go to music and theatrical events. I live in my house/studio in Rangeley, Maine in the summer and in my bungalow in Mount Dora, Florida in the winter.
