Traditional detached croft cottage (1880s) in a peaceful village with lovely views of Loch Leurbost. 15 minute drive from Stornoway and ferry terminal. Pet-friendly. Ground floor-Lounge, dining room(with double sofa-bed), well-equipped kitchen, bathroom with stand-alone shower. First floor-2 bedrooms. Within easy reach of Callanish Stones and other key attractions, for visits to Harris and for the Hebridean Way. This an old-style, comfortable cottage with traditional character and great views.

Fully-equipped kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, coffee-maker, fridge/freezer.
Quality furniture with Ercol table, chairs and suite.
Bedroom 1 has a king-size and a single bed; bedroom 2 has a double and a single bed. The dining room has a double sofa-bed.
Bathroom including toilet is on ground floor.

The Isle of Lewis has many historical attractions, including the druidical stones at Callanish, the Carloway Broch and Black Houses. There are magnificent beaches, often with whales and porpoises close by, and some of the best surfing in the country.

Neighbourhood highlights

Very quiet and very rural location. Really "get away from it all" here!

There are two large stores in Stornoway: the Co-op on the way into town (you pass it on the left) and Tesco opposite the ferry terminal. There is a Smokehouse opposite Tesco that sells the best smoked salmon and kippers I have ever tasted. Also, there is the world-famous Stornoway black pudding in Charles Macleod butchers beside the Co-op.

I enjoy travelling and have stayed in many Airbnb properties myself as well as managing rentals for White Cottage, which is on the beautiful Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. I have been staying at White Cottage since the early 90s when I first met my mother in law Morag and her sister Catherine, who were living in the cottage. Morag was born in White Cottage in 1923 so there is a long family history. Her son and my then husband, Angus, spent all his childhood holidays with cousins at White Cottage. And our son Finlay, born in 1994 grew up with many visits to the cottage. He has many happy memories particularly of climbing trees and playing in the garden!
