Escape to your private waterfront oasis on serene Lake Mahopac, conveniently located just one hour from New York City. This spacious 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom home offers the perfect year-round getaway, comfortably sleeping up to 12 guests.

The main living area, filled with warm natural light, invites you to relax by the large stone fireplace. The well-equipped kitchen features stainless steel appliances and everything you need to prepare delicious meals. For coffee lovers, a K-cup machine is available—just bring your favorite blend. Gather for meals at the large wood dining table, or challenge friends and family in the game room, equipped with a ping pong table, foosball, and sure-shot basketball.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS:
* Main Floor: Bedroom 1 offers a King bed. A full bathroom is also on this 1st floor level.
(Important if you have accessibility needs or trouble climbing up stairs)
* Upper Floor: You will find two bedrooms with Queen beds. A fourth, large bedroom is perfect for kids, featuring one full bed and five twin beds (as two bunk beds and a single). A second full bathroom is located on this floor.

THE PROPERTY: Located on W Lake Blvd, house has a large yard with lake views. The house is directly located on the south end of Lake Mahopac. The private parking can easily accommodate up to 6 vehicles.

GETTING THERE:
Driving - Just located within 60 minutes (driving) from Manhattan with lots of great local shopping, dining, and hiking.
Public Transit - The home is accessible via Metro North (Croton Falls Station) from Grand Central Station. Once at the station, the house is a short taxi/Uber away.
Uber/Taxi - Once at the house, you can also take a Taxi/Uber to all the adventures and activities in the area with local hiking, shopping, and incredible restaurants to explore.

Mahopac - Visit the vibrant town of Mahopac, which in the 19th century was a summer and fall resort. Mahopac has walkable downtown, lined with mom-and-pop shops, small businesses and restaurants. It stretches about half a mile along the southern edge of Lake Mahopac. There are two large shopping plazas with supermarkets on Route 6, a commercial strip that travels north-south through the hamlet. The rest of Mahopac is residential, its roads, some narrow and hilly, winding through woods and around the lakes.

How do I pronounce the town - Mahopac? What is now Mahopac was once inhabited by the Wappinger, members of the Algonquian tribe of Native Americans. Mahopac is said to be the Algonquian word for “lake of the great serpent.” While most people pronounce it “MAY-o-pack,” longtime residents defer to its roots and insist it is “ma-HO-pack.”
