We had a great time staying for a week at Donatella and Giuliano's place. They were incredibly welcoming, accommodated our requests and went above and beyond. For example, one day we were eating our own food for lunch outside, and by mistake poured lots of salt all over our food. They immediately brought us food to replace ours - bread, wine and a delicious local cheese stracchiata which we wouldn't have discovered otherwise. Heart-warming generosity.   The house is beautifully decorated in warm colours with interesting artwork everywhere. The upstairs flat is a comfortable size and very clean, the bathroom in particular is decorated in nice colours and well appointed. There is a fridge in the living room where we could keep supplies for picnic lunches, though note there isn't a kitchenette etc so don't expect self-catering. We found the beds very comfortable as we prefer firm mattresses.   We were spoiled by Donatella with coffee and cake for breakfast, as well as a comfortable selection of cereal, yogurt or milk, fruit, delicious dark wholegrain bread, marmalade, etc.   Giuliano was very generous with his time helping us plan our stay, providing detailed information, sharing maps - so helpful!   We stayed for a week and still didn't have time to do everything we would have liked! Fron this location we could easily hike the Cinque Terre trails avoiding most of the crowds by driving & parking on the roads high up the cliffs above Cinque Terre or even on the other side of the cliffs (eg Codeglia), hiking down to a village, using the coastal trail to reach another village (where the coastal trail was open), and then hiking back up. Thus we could avoid the notoriously crowded train from La Spezia. There are nice sand beaches in Lerici, a pleasant mountain biking trail up the river to Beverino, and for days out it's about 1h drive to Lucca (very enjoyable and not overly crowded), and even Florence can be easily reached by car if you park for free by the Coop near Nenni-Torregalli and take the tram from there.   A lovely stay, the most welcoming and generous hosts we've met - highly recommended.

Donatella and Giuliano were incredibly welcoming and kind! They provided very clear instructions for our arrival, were accommodating to our delay, and gave us valuable tips on how to best enjoy cinque terre and surrounding areas. The house is ample and very comfortable. Everything was clean and well organized - and the breakfast with local treats was delicious. Many thanks! Highly recommended.

Donatella and Giuliano were the most wonderful hosts and made us feel extremely welcome. The house is in a great location within easy distance from the cinque terre towns and the sea. we loved chatting over evening meals and Donatella's breakfasts are delicious, especially the marmalade cake which she freshly baked. Giuliano was even kind enough to give us some of his home-made wine and lots of limoncello!! they were charming and kind and we will remember our visit forever and definately return if we come back to italy. I was a great pleasure to meet you both and you made our trip very memorable, so thank you very much!! Iona, George, Lily and Millie x

Our stay with Donatella and Giuliano was awesome. The house is clean, big and peaceful. We couldn't ask for more :) Donatella & Giuliano were great hosts, always available, easy to talk with and very very helpful with directions and local tips that helped us to enjoy our stay even more than expected. They are treat you as if you were their family. They welcomed us with a nice aperitif and a friendly conversation to start our stay and every morning Donatella offered us an outstanding breakfast with juice, homemade cake pastries and an amazing jam, coffee and toasts! Definitely a place to stay... and repeat!

Absolutely 10/10! Rooms are clean and spacious and there is everything you need for comfortable stay. From less important things like little soaps and shampoos, water kettle or fresh bottle of water to more important things like fridge, very comfortable king size bed with quality pillows - it has everything to make your stay happy. And the best thing there are the owners-Giuliano and Donatella. A remarkable, polite, very nice and very friendly couple who welcomed us from the second as we arrived. They are very helpful at any time and dont hesitate to ask them anything. We have got some really good, well detailed, true Insidertipps that you cant find so easy on the internet. The breakfast table was prepared every morning and we especially enjoyed homemade cookies and really tasty Cappuccino. We can definitely recommend this place and would stay again!

We stayed 4 nights at Donatella e Giuliano's place- they were very nice and friendly- they offered suggestions on how to get to Cinque Terre- every morning breakfast was ready for us as well and they made an effort to please our taste with coffee and hot milk - my son loves Donatella and wanted to play with her- Giuliano shared a bottle of his own wine production - overall it was a great experience staying with them- I wish the place had a Kitchen or at least a sink- also is to note is 4 flights up the stairs.... other than that our stay was very pleasant -
