The space

Close to nature with the wind, waves, high and low tides. If you are lucky you may get a chance to see the huge American Bald Eagle and her young as it rides the thermals along the shoreline. The night skies are spectacular and the hot tub provides the perfect place for viewing. The summertime temperature rarely rises above 24 degrees C. so its very comfortable and great for sleeping.

Interaction with guests

Eric and Marilyn are next door and available to help with your needs and concerns.

Other things to note

There are lots of other things to see but most of my pics are views taken from the property itself. Having said that they do not do justice to the view. Perfect place to unwind.

The pictures do not do the view or the house justice. It is amazing! The Fundy tides are incredible to watch and the Chignecto Provincial Park is literally 3 houses away. The home is immaculate and very peaceful. We really enjoyed our time there. If you go, bring your own food and drink as there isn't much close by, but that is part of what makes this such a great location. Don't miss Wild Caraway for lunch and dinner during your stay. Local foods, incredible creativity. Paddling with NovaShores to the 3 sisters sea stacks is also a must if you can do it. Hiking in the park and on the beach are fantastic.

This was an idyllic get away in every way. The view of Fundy from the deck is breathtaking, and the hot tub was a welcome feature. The house is lovely and well stocked. The area is beautiful and quiet. The provincial park is just down the block and has great trails. Only thing was they closed the park on our second day due to lack of rain and concern about fire. Call or check the park website if you plan a hike. The local restaurants are awesome, especially Wild Caraway for which a reservation is needed. We also loved eating at the lighthouse restaurant at Cape D'Or. For a quiet, relaxing vacation we can't recommend Dave's place more!

Hi Roan Thank You for the good comments. I hope the setting refreshed and recharged everyone and the vacation was what it is suppose to be. To the largest extent possible I hope the local store can supply everyone`s needs however the larger selections are a drive away. The mattresses are being replaced in September. Once again thanks for choosing Advocate Harbour. Cheers Dave Regards Dave

The cottage was just what we expected from the description and from talking to the owner in advance. Very comfortable and well equipped little house. Remarkable view and great access to the area's features. We had a wonderful week and enjoyed having the cottage as our home base. The area is beautiful and full of opportunities to explore.

Thank You David for your kind remarks and I am very glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you were able to research kinfolk and connect with the past and can return in the future; maybe during lobster season (the best in the world) . Good Health and Best Regards Dave Kelly

I highly recommend this rental. The host is very responsive. The home itself is very clean and has all basic necessities. The view is incredible to say the least. Whether you are an adventure tourist or just want to go to a quiet, beautiful place, you will love it here. Access to good food and wine is very limited, I suggest bringing it with you if you care about this sort of thing. I wish I could have stayed another week and certainly hope to return.

Hi Linda I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the feedback. The barbeque heats up in the wind if aluminum foil is placed on it to superheat it ( but how would you know). I gave up on the umbrella for the table since the wind tore up two of those. Nevertheless I will try to find a barbeque that is less affected by wind. I will also get a outside burner and pot for cooking lobster. The lobster season varies year to year and if you're fortunate to be here when it is open they are the best in the world. The reason for this is the enormous tide that they endure results in a very robust and healthy lobster. I will recommend that people get their booze and supplies before they arrive. Cheers Dave

My husband and I loved staying here. The pictures posted are the view from the back deck. It's like nothing I've ever seen before. The hot tub was a nice touch after a day of hiking in the provincial park right down the road. There was kayaking nearby, and a beautiful rocky beach to explore. It was quite remote, nestled in a tiny fishing village, which was the perfect getaway for us, free from any hustle & bustle. The cottage itself was very clean & had everything we needed. The host was easy to get ahold of and very friendly. If you're looking for a true getaway with spectacular views, look no further.

Beautiful place. Fantastic location. Flexible host. Dave was easy to work with. He was very accommodating and easy to deal with. He was happy to answer all of my questions about the area. The house is adorable and equipped with all the basic necessities. It is in great condition and very clean. There is a fabulous hot tub on a lovely deck overlooking the Bay of Fundy. You can't access the beach from the property, but you are only a 5 minute walk to the beach and a 10 minute walk to Cape Chignecto Provincial Park. (But be prepared that this is lovely beach to walk on, but it is never warm enough for swimming--even in the hottest part of the summer.) This is a lovely area for any outdoor enthusiasts or people looking for a quiet retreat. We loved staying there!!
