Ideally located in the heart of Bella Vista, just two blocks from the Italian Market, this home is a great escape from the city. Stay comfortably in a light filled corner home, with easy access to all that Philly has to offer!
The house is a great 100 year old Philadelphia row home. We are working hard to restore the original character to the house that has been slowly removed over the last century. We have recently updated the kitchen and bathrooms and refinished the floors. Our house is clean and welcoming to our guests and a wonderful 3 bedroom space for you to enjoy.
You will have access to two upstairs bedrooms and semi-private finished basement (with optional full height, queen air mattress), two full bathrooms (one with shower, one with tub/shower), an equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, dishwasher, cable TV, WiFi.
*the 3rd bedroom is a private office, which we ask you do not access*
(if using items in kitchen, please be respectful and wash and return to original location)
Interaction with guests
When we are renting out the entire house through this listing, it means we are out of town. However, we are available via phone and have friends in the local area to help out in case of emergencies. We have lived in Philadelphia for many years now, and know our way around. We can help you find what to do/see/eat throughout the city, or stay local in our wonderful neighborhood. From a bite to eat or a drink across the street at Royal Tavern, to catching a ride to high-end Rittenhouse, we can help you plan your experience.
Other things to note
We have the flexibility of a key-less entry on our home. This allows you to come and go as you please, all by typing in a pin number. All that we ask is you let us know your ETA, so we can greet you. Should you arrive after 11 pm, we can arrange for you to have access to the house, but we require advance notice.
We mostly ask that you please treat our home and belongings with respect.
•The house can comfortably sleep 4 guests, with the option for 2 additional guests (on an air mattress in a semi-private space), which may be allowed upon request, but NO ADDITIONAL guests without prior approval.
•Do NOT leave trash or recycling on the front curbside. There will be instructions for where to leave your trash, and we ask you follow this. Not complying may result in a fine.
•No smoking or vaping inside the home. If guests smoke in the premises they will be immediately evicted and charged a $250 fee (or more if it is warranted) to clean up the smoke odor.
•Please make sure the door is locked behind you when leaving.
•Please be quiet by 11 pm in consideration of the neighbors. Though you cannot hear the neighbors through the walls, we do ask that you keep in mind that you are in an urban environment with neighbors close by.
•No pets, please.
•No loud parties, please
•Please treat the home with respect.
•Return anything you borrow.
•Please wash all your dirty dishes and put them back where you found them.

•Help us to conserve energy & keep our prices low, when you leave the place, turn off all lights, fan, heat & A/C.
We are Joe and Steve, a recently married couple who are settling into our new home in Philadelphia. We also have a cute dog named Tucker (he is a Glenn-of-Imaal Terrier; hypo-allergenic and does not shed). We are both originally from the NYC suburbs but have been in Philly for years and love our adopted home town!
A little bit about us:
We love all things Mid Century, especially searching for vintage flea market deals. Our home reflects this and is decorated with a blend of 60's and modern style. (Think Mad Men)
Steve is an architect and Joe is an engineer (with a focus on sustainability). During our current home projects - these backgrounds are both useful and a challenge. We hope the house lives up to our standards!
We are definite foodies and LOVE great meals, and Philly is an excellent town for dining!!! In addition to food, we love cool happy hour spots, fun architecture, theater and real estate. HGTV is a staple in our household and we make a habit of wandering into open houses even though we're really not in the market for a new place at the moment =)
We love entertaining and hosting, and enjoy cooking and opening our home to our friends.
We welcome you to come explore our vibrant little city and discover for yourself what Philly has to offer.
Hope to see you very soon.
