Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Oakwood Lodge is a converted barn on a working farm. It is set on the edge of wheat fields and nestled in amongst a woodland area. I do allow dogs, they are most welcome. The outside space is secure for them to roam freely. There’s no grass, only gravel out the front and Woodchip bark out the back. The back has been left as natural as possible. There’s some nettles and brambles to be aware of, I do trim them back so they shouldn’t be an issue.

The space
You walk into a hallway with the kitchen/Living room to your right, a bedroom to your left, and a bathroom with a shower straight ahead. The stairs lead up to a mezzanine bedroom with 2 single beds that can also be assembled as a double bed. Please inform me if you would like 2 single beds or 1 double bed during your stay so I can prepare the room. The outside space provides a hot tub, a fire pit with a safety surround to help protect from the hot wood burner being touched, particularly by small children and dogs. There’s seating and eating area’s at the front and the back of the property. There’s a charcoal BBQ at the very back of the outside space. The outside space is secure for dogs to keep them safe.
I had to replace a high fence that was along the front of the property for privacy for the post and rail fence that is there now due to a covenant order from The National Trust. It was non-negotiable. There’s fencing to prevent dogs from escaping. I’ve had blinds installed on the inside of the windows to give privacy during the day.

Guest access
You have full access of the entire Lodge and the outside space that’s secured with a boundary fence. There is no access allowed beyond the Lodge as you are staying on a working farm.

Other things to note
The concrete road that leads to Oakwood Lodge and beyond is access to some other properties and farm vehicles. You do not have access to walk or drive or walk beyond Oakwood Lodge.
