For me and my sister, this traditional Korean house sits at the top of our list. We fell in love with it the first time we saw it on airbnb and quickly made a reservation. It took us around 4,5 hours from Incheon to reach the house. Early trains are available both from Incheon/Dong Seoul to the house and vice versa. Jin wasn't there, but always ready to help with direction and assisted us along the way. Once we've reached the destination, we were picked up at the station, which is not so far from the house. The hosting was done by Jin's parent. They are a very kind, caring, generous and warm-hearted couple. His mother is lively and his father can speak a little bit of English, so you don't have to worry although you can't speak Korean. During our stay, our room was upgraded to a bigger one when there're no other visitors. They even took us to see Baekdudaegan National Arboretum around the area. Jin's sister welcomed us via telephone and answered all of the questions we had regarding our stay and offered to explain it in English or Chinese. Do plan ahead well, as bus options are more limited compared to bigger cities. Although you don't need to worry as you can discuss your next plan with Jin if you're not familiar with Naver Map like we do. He can also give suggestions if you let him know your interest. The house is a beauty and the room is clean. During our visit, in the morning the house was covered in fog, the view of the house are clear in the afternoon, and it has its own subtle charm at night. We even got to see the stars clearly on our second night. The heated floor felt great against the cold wind in late November. The bathroom is located right across the room, the inside has been refurbished but the outer older building stayed intact. We highly recommend this house and urge you to visit if you have the time. Even after we've seen other parts of Korea, we can say for sure that this special place is the one that have captivate our hearts the most. We're glad that we had start our journey from this wonderful house with such hospitable hosts. We left with good memories and will definitely make another visit when we have the chance to visit Korea :)

My friend and I were searching for traditional Korean house (hanok) on airbnb and when we saw this listing, we were like "no matter how far it is, WE ARE GOING!". So we went, and it was honestly the most unforgettable travel experience I've ever had. The vibrant city life style of Korea might be very attractive but it is also a good idea if you could spare out 2 days of your trip and visit this super cool traditional Korean house and the little village for a little getaway. It is located in a remote area in the countryside, 4 hours train ride from Seoul. The house is closed to the train station. It was freezing cold during our visit therefore the host kindly offered pick up from the train station. We were warmly welcomed by the hosts as soon as we arrived. They prepared extra bed quilts for us to make sure that we're warm enough during the -15 degrees winter night. Even though it is an old traditional Korean house, some part of the interior have been refurbished. It is very clean and cozy. It was so cool to stay in a historical building like this- incomparable with those hanok village attractions. We were very lucky to be the only guests for that night. The host kindly upgraded us to a larger room. As an architecture student, it was fascinating to see the actual Korean traditional underfloor heating system (Ondol). The host were sooooo nice. We chatted for hours and they were so fun to talk to. They thought it would be too boring for us to stay home for the whole day so grandpa took us to a really cool temple nearby that is built a thousand years ago. They seriously treated us like their granddaughters with love and care. I will definitely go back to visit during my next trip to Korea.
