We had a great stay at Alice's house! The beautiful house was conveniently close to Oxford centre via a gorgeous River walk which we enjoyed. The room was immaculate and quiet and breakfast was delicious! Alice was a wonderful host who was very helpful and welcoming. We had a lovely stay, many thanks!

We were given a very warm welcome, a most comfortable bed and a sumptuous breakfast for our one night stay. Lovely house, friendly hosts , great room and large bathroom. Close to pretty walk along the river and village. Only 2 miles walk to Oxford city centre. Our stay was too short.

Alice was so warm and welcoming and the accommodation was beautiful. She was very helpful with knowledge about the local area and made us feel really at home. Great breakfast too! Highly recommended.

Alice is a wise and friendly lady. The room is spotless and well organized but the only regret is that is does not have a wardrobe to hang clothes. Garden view from room window is wonderful. Neighborhood is quiet and beautiful. The most impressive thing for me is the breakfast Alice made - so delicious that it disrupted my impression on English food totally! It is great experience to stay here.

This was my first experience using air b & b and my first trip abroad so I was very lucky to have found Alice's home! She was incredibly helpful even prior to my meeting her , instructions were clear and easy to understand ( she had a very nice notebook suggesting different routes and walks thru Oxford . Her home is gorgeous , spotless and she and her husband were over and beyond good hosts! My trip was a bit rocky the first 36 hours ( lost luggage etc ) so I was very discouraged the morning I was leaving Alice ( who cooked a breakfast that would shame any hotel !! ) she advised me on jet lag ( I had felt ill since landing ) , she encouraged me when I was at the point of tears being homesick and it turned out she was correct about everything ! I arrived at Oxford , my luggage was deliver shortly and everything looked completely different ! In short , her advice on jet lag helped me to "stabilise ", she is a warm , caring incredibly beautiful lady that is a natural at hospitality ! I couldn't have had a better first experience ! I feel I've made a lifelong friend as well and didn't expect that ! Cannot recommend this highly enough ! The bathroom had an amazing tub to soak in , my room ( twin beds) was very comfortable in every way , if you're lucky enough to find Alice when visiting Oxford , you're lucky enough ( as they say!) I should mention her home is in a quant village right beside the city so it's not a convenient walk to Oxford but I knew this prior to renting . The village has a short walk to a lock I thoroughly enjoyed !!

A leafy, serene, comfortable place to stay, with perfect contintental breakfasts, run with both sense and sensitivity by an accommodating host. Did I mention it was peaceful? Made me want to skip my business meetings in Oxford and turn my trip into a vacation break in Iffley Village.

I'm a happy Anglo-American who has lived in Oxford for over 25 years. I love gardening, cooking, and entertaining. When I'm not hosting guests here, I am travelling myself. I've recently walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain, and the West Highland Way in Scotland. Favourite film? Babette's Feast!
