I hesitate on offering this review as this experience was very mixed. Overall, the apartment was exactly what we expected & served our needs. The biggest issue...I understand that it was my responsibility to double check to see if there was an 'elevator' in the building. It had been a couple of years since we had been in Europe so I had completely forgotten that most buildings in Paris do NOT have elevators. So I booked the room before it hit me to check & they have a STRICT cancellation policy. Sure enough, they had, in one place, listed there was no elevator (the word 'elevator' with a line drawn through it). I accept full responsibility for booking an apartment in Paris with no elevator, knowing my 74 year old mama would be with us. However, I would NOT have booked this apartment if I had double checked. May I suggest that if you have any sort of issue with stairs, you make note that this apartment is on the 5th floor (they will tell you 4th floor because France considers the 'ground floor', floor ZERO). After a very long day of seeing Paris, it was really difficult for mama to climb those stairs. She did it...she made it & it worked out okay. But again, IF I had known, I would NOT have booked this apartment. I realize most of their guests are probably much younger than we are. That makes a big difference. In our own home (airbnb) we also get mostly younger guests & a few older ones. The older ones are always more difficult. So I get it. Now we fall into that 'older guests' category! With 3 people in this apartment, there was an initial issue with the hot water.
Evidently the water heater is on some sort of 'timer' so if the tank is drained (they claimed that we drained the entire, large hot water tank...I still don't think we did.), you're done with hot water until the next day. Just a heads up. The apartment is lovely & is in an incredible location. We very much enjoyed that. The kitchen was well stocked...we had everything we needed.
