Casa Vega is a beautiful fully restored colonial home just ½ block from the central park and downtown. This house is what a colonial home aspires to be with its two large living areas, open garden, beautiful wood staircase and antiques throughout.

The space

Casa Vega is as close to a full colonial home as you will find in Granada. The two living areas are large with comfortable seating and custom furnishings. There is beautiful art work throughout the house as well as may pieces of hand thrown pottery.

The main corridor, the heart of the home, features a beautiful swimming pool in the center with an artistic waterfall and lush gardens. There is ample seating on all sides of the corridor for whatever activity you would like to do such as reading or working on your computer. There is a large dining room table for eight as well as a smaller table for four just off the kitchen.

Downstairs, there are two large bedrooms with air conditioning and cable TV .One bedroom features a large king bed with a full bathroom and the other has two twin size beds with access to the bathroom just off the patio. The bedrooms are large and beautifully furnished with access to both the corridor and the back patio garden.

The beautiful wooden staircase leads you to a large upper patio which accesses both of the upper bedroom suites. Both have king beds, a large full bath and air conditioning as well as access to the back patio. The views from both patios are amazing, one of the Granada Cathedral and the other of the Mombacho Volcano.

Casa Vega is located close to the central park, many fine restaurants and nightlife. It is an easy walk to many of Granada’s art galleries, museums and tourists attractions. No matter if you are with friends or family, Casa Vega is a great place to spend your vacation.

The house is lovely, large and centrally located. It was clean, and well stocked except for the linens, namely blankets. We certainly enjoyed the area, and the recommendations of things to do. My granddaughter especially, loved the central pool, and the fact that she could swim, while we were right there next to her in the open air living room. At times it was quite loud, but this may have been mainly due to the Christmas season, and people celebrating. It is a lovely house.

First, the photos do not do this place justice. When we walked in all four of us were impressed not only with the beauty but the size of the place. The layout was great in that we could all be together when we wanted or grab some of our own space if needed. The plunge pool was a great bonus, particularly on hot days, 5 ft deep, a pleasant surprise as we had thought it was more ornamental or a wading pool. A perfect location, in the heart of the city, easy walk to all the restaurants and sites in Granada, yet could be an oasis when needed. You will hear the noise of the city but it was not overwhelming. With the air con on in the rooms for sleeping you really did not hear it much. The upper bedrooms have balconies on both sides, a great place to view the fireworks on new years eve or sunrises/sunsets. The open courtyard allowed for nice breezes and with the fans made it very comfortable even in the middle of the day. The staff, Julio and David were great, always cheerful and discreet, and kept the place clean and neat. As we arrived late in the evening it was great having groceries and the fridge stocked so we could readily have breakfast and lunch the following morning as we got adjusted to the warm weather and jet lag. It made our friends birthday trip exceptional, almost magical. In the end, we highly recommend Casa Vega and we will be back again.
