The listing says the apartment has one bed in the bedroom and one extra bed for the common area/sleeps 3 people. It should say one bed/sleeps 2 people. The futon and cot were extremely old/uncomfortable and not fit to sit on much less to sleep on. The blinds are not adequate to keep light out and the sun was coming in about 5 am. I got almost no sleep both nights. If you are going to sleep in the common area and privacy is a concern, be aware there is a pass-through fireplace. There is a clear view between the bedroom and the living room. The pillows/bedding are old, yellowed, stained, lumpy; most of it should have been thrown out long ago. Noise was an issue both from the busy street and the construction just below the balcony. We wanted to cook but the pans & oven (& some of the dishes) were dirty. The sponges to clean the dishes were old & there was not enough dish soap. This makes the $59 cleaning fee seem outrageous. The view is not something that should be advertised as a perk. We were asked to tell the neighbors that we were friends of the owner rather than Airbnb guests. We felt this was an inappropriate request and were very uncomfortable with this. I am assuming that having Airbnb guests is a violation of the building's rules. There was cardboard taped to the floor due the ongoing plumbing work being done (workers coming in and out of the apartment). We were not told about this until the day we checked in. Some of the lights did not work and the apartment is just generally in a poor state; it does not look like the photos. The parking was nice, the internet worked fine, the Netflix was an added bonus, and the host did communicate promptly during the stay. I messaged the owner several days ago asking that these issues be addressed (prior to posting a review). I have not received a reply. I have been using Airbnb’s all over the world for years and have never written a bad review, but I would NOT recommend staying in this apartment. Next time I will look for something in Gastown.

Unfortunately, my father and I were quite disappointed with the apartment during our stay. I feel quite confused on all of the glowing 5-star reviews on this page, as I don't understand how someone could describe this place as perfect or want to stay here again. It's apparent to me that no one regularly lives here, as I think many of the issues I noticed would not be in the state they're in if a human was actually living here on a regular basis. Only a few of the lights in the entire apartment worked or had outlets to be plugged into (the light on the nightstand was not plugged in and there was no outlet for it anywhere nearby). This made it very difficult to see / work at the table at night, as the only light in the entire living room that was working was a small standing floor lamp next to the TV. Most of the switches on the wall did nothing when you flipped them, and we were never able to turn on any of the overhead lighting. There were handles missing from some of the cabinets in the kitchen, and one set of blinds in the bedroom did not even work / go down for privacy. The futon had almost no padding or support in it and made it incredibly uncomfortable to even sit on while watching tv. It also had some big black duct tape patches on it from where it looks like it had been busted open before, which was not in the listing photos and made it feel like old college dorm room furniture. The bed options for the second bed were both terribly uncomfortable. I slept one night on the cot, where I could feel the wires through the incredibly thin mattress the entire night, and tried the sofa the second night in the hopes it would be more comfortable, but it also sank down since it had almost no padding and I could feel the metal supports digging into my back all night. While having parking was a great asset, the apartment itself was a huge disappointment, especially for the cost.

This location is perfect! Very Central and easy to walk to pretty much everything! In a secured building so felt very safe as well. And despite being in the middle of the city it was pretty quiet. The only critique I have is the extra bed is not very comfortable. I would say this place is better for couples. I didn't meet Alice in person but she was always quick to respond to any issue and very accommodating. Overall our stay was very nice and we enjoyed it quite a bit.

Alice was a good host, very good about communicating with me, let me check in early to convenience me, and the check-in and check-out process was a breeze. Also, the location is great with lots of restaurants and public transportation right outside the front door of the building. The fact that there is a parking spot included is also a huge bonus, given the expense of parking in downtown Vancouver.

My husband and I enjoyed staying at Alice's place for a quick weekend trip to Vancouver! It's great location makes it walking distance to many destinations including BC Place stadium and Granville Public Market. Alice was very responsive and gave very detailed and accurate directions as to how to get into the apartment and access parking. Our stay was great, and we recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay for the weekend.
